CELEBRITIES & INFLUENCERS HELPING SOUTH AFRICAN FAMILIES, TOGETHER
June is International Children’s month. Celebrities & influencers will be showing their support to children in South Africa by participating in a social media campaign called the #AFRICATOGETHER CHALLENGE which will run from the 26th of June 2020 to the 6th of July 2020 through Instagram Live on their individual Instagram profiles. The campaign is in support of UNICEF South Africa’s #BucketsofCare initiative. Each Bucket of Care - containing a 3 months’ supply of soap, detergent, bleach, sanitiser, masks and messages on nutrition and parenting, child care, mental health and COVID-19- comes in a reusable bucket and also includes a household handwashing facility. This will enable families to store and easily use water for hygiene and sanitation purposes in areas where water is not readily available to each household. Handwashing with soap, when done correctly, is critical in the fight against COVID-19, but billions of people have no ready access to a place to wash their hands with soap at home.
Some of the celebrities you can look forward to see participate in this challenge include DJ Tira & his wife Gugu Khati, Shauwn “Mam” Mkhize, Pearl Thusi, Ama Qamata, Ayanda Thabethe, Ice Prince Zamani, Jah Prayzah and American Influencer Adam Waheed.
