For the first time in the world, two EXEED cars completed frontal impact tests at a relative speed of 128km/h
Recently, EXEED VX has completed a car-to-car collision test at China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC), with each car travelling at around 64 km/h, this was the first test ever done at such a test speed in the world, and both cars passed the challenging test with full marks.
Top Safety, a top-level automobile safety event in China, is sponsored by CATARC. In the event, the test that EXEED VX has participated in was the most rigorous car-to-car collision test, which was performed under the test conditions of each car traveling at a speed of 64 km/h, with 25% offset and a 15° angle between cars. It was also for the first time in the world that two cars running at such a relative speed of 128km/h has completed this open impact test.
The test used cars randomly selected from production cars, and simulated on a two-way road, two cars ran into each other at a relative speed of 128km/h, a speed far higher than that in a single-car crash, and the impact positions were both at the driver side, reflecting a traffic accident more exactly. Such a series of rigorous test conditions all posed new challenges to the body structure design, constraint system matching, manufacturing process, etc. of EXEED VX.
In the presence of the medias, CATARC experts interpreted the test from three aspects: body structure, functional performance of systems, and test dummy injuries. Among them, in the performance of test dummy injuries, which is most closely related to consumers, both cars passed the test with an excellent score, one with full marks and one rated as 98.8%. In terms of body structure, the passenger compartment of EXEED VX remained in good conditions, the body structure was still kept intact, the threshold and A-pillar showed no obvious deformation, doors were not detached from the body during the impact, and the door lock and hinges at the impact position have not failed. As for functional performance, doors not impacted can be opened smoothly (still capable of automatic unlocking), the door on the impact side was closed, the front driver and passenger airbags, side and curtain airbags on the impact side were all launched normally, and the seats and safety belts have not failed after the impact.

The whole car has been accurately tuned and calibrated by a professional team, and more than 1,000 simulations and over 100 vehicle impact tests have been carried out. On the basis of excellent passive safety performance, EXEED VX is equipped with the highest L2.5 active safety system in mass production.
