The Soil vocalist Ntsika will perform his own songs in a powerful new musical production on 6 April at the Joburg Theatre.

‘I Write What I Dream’ opens a window for us to sneak a peek on Ntsika’s ultimate musical genius. Multi-award-winning composer, label head of Nomadic Tribe Entertainment, forefront member of the internationally acclaimed a cappella group, The Soil, and an extraordinary vocalist, Ntsika Fana Ngxanga will perform a powerful new musical production on 6 April at the Joburg Theatre (The Fringe Theatre) in celebration of his 30th birthday.

Ntsika literally dreams about songs usually meant for the artists to whom he eventually gives them, namely, The Soil, Khonaye, Soulphiatown, Baobab Sisters, Vusi Nova, Musa Sukwene, to name a few.

But recently, he’s been dreaming about personal songs meant for him alone and he says he wants to celebrate his birthday by presenting these new solo songs exclusively for ‘one night only’. The music will be directed by acclaimed South African pianist, Johan Mthethwa, accompanied on stage by an array of surprise guest artists.

“With this special musical performance, I will let people experience the spiritual connection I have with music, treat them to songs crafted by God and given to me through dreams and pair the performance with an amazing conversation between myself and the host for the evening, the acclaimed actress and all-round creative soul, Sthandiwe Kgoroge. We will use that chat platform to unpack the stories behind all the songs,” says Ntsika Fana Ngxanga.

This highly anticipated production will be presented in partnership with Joburg Theatre & Nomadic Tribe Music.

“We are excited to be hosting ‘I Write What I Dream’ on our stage as this celebrates local talent such as Ntsika,” says Makhaola Ndebele, Artistic Director at Joburg City Theatres.

‘I Write What I Dream’ will be on for one night only, 6 April 2018 at the Joburg Theatre (The Fringe Theatre), 8pm.

Tickets are R120 and are available through webtickets.co.za or www.joburgtheatre.com
Patrons can also contact the Joburg Theatre box office via 0861 670 670 to make a booking.
