Join MasterDrive in giving back


Following the completion of MasterDrive’s annual philanthropic initiative on Mandela Day 2020, it was clear that many South Africans were in great need following the lockdown and that there was only more difficulty to come.


Consequently, the team has committed to giving back to the community in some way each month.

The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says the company recognised the fortunate position we were in.

“Despite the challenges we ourselves faced as a result of lockdown, the team is aware that many organisations were not as fortunate and there are many more people in need as a result.

Consequently, we decided to set aside a day each month during which we could help an organisation or individuals, who are facing difficulties, for the foreseeable future. We have embarked on various campaigns since starting that have brought relief to many.”

Our campaigns cover various needs within the community.

“We started off with a sandwich drive which is where we saw a stark reality of the difficulties created by lockdown. The team embarked on a similar exercise a few times since then, reaching communities in dire need of support and sustenance. During our most recent initiative, we had the opportunity to make sandwiches for the children at Tshegofatsong Special School in Mamelodi.

“On other occasions we have been involved in the donation of goods and food products to other organisations that care for the community. We had the opportunity to provide the Door of Hope children’s home with much needed products for the babies. In another instance, we were able to provide food products to a community group that was caring for the elderly.”

MasterDrive encourages other organisations to join us in these initiatives and be the helping hand that South Africa needs right now.

“Whether you join MasterDrive in their next venture or start your own programme, many lives can be changed. Every organisation that made it to the other side of lockdown can do their part to help those who were affected negatively,”
