MILLION KM FIAT FIORINO

When it comes to commercial vehicles, two major factors chart the success for profitability: low running costs and downtime. One Fiat Professional customer has reaped both rewards as their Fiat Fiorino clocked over 1,000,000km in just six years of reliable operation.

What makes the achievement all the more considerable, is that the Fiat did it on its original engine, with only a new transmission required at 500,000km in addition to its regular maintenance.

In the cost-of-ownership race, there’s very little that can beat that achievement.

The third generation Fiat Fiorino was unveiled in October 2007 and became available in both panel van and passenger body styles, the latter under the Qubo nameplate. Based on the Fiat Grande Punto platform, the Fiorino is powered by either Fiat’s 1.3 Multijet diesel or 1.4-litre petrol engine.

The versatile panel van quickly gained popularity amongst the Fiat Professional range, along with its larger siblings, the Doblo and Ducato. Equipped with impressive infotainment features, including 5-inch touch-screen, Bluetooth, USB, and integrated connectivity, the Fiorino has its working driver at heart, maintaining comfort and practicality, while offering 2,8m3 of versatile loading space.

“The biggest compliments we can get for our commercial vehicles come from successful businesses where our products have enabled growth,” says Leslie Ramsoomar, Managing Director of Stellantis South Africa. “Reliability and dependability are key to success in these fleets and Fiat Professional products deliver these important attributes.”

Owners of the Fiorino put its million-kilometre dependability down to regular maintenance and the use of genuine parts. This no-compromise approach has netted the most efficient running costs in the process, while keeping the vehicle running and, therefore, delivering on their business needs.

The Fiat Fiorino continues to work hard. Purchased in January 2015, it has covered just over 150,000km per annum on average, or around 12,000km per month. Put another way, the driver spends over 500km per working day behind the wheel. Good thing they enjoy every moment of it and never feel worried about getting stranded on the side of the road.

The Fiat Fiorino continues to be available from Fiat Professional priced from R241,900.

So what does happen when your Fiat Fiorino goes past one million kilometres? It keeps going and working. Just this once, Fiat will be giving the workhorse its million kilometre service on them before returning it to its hard-working duties.
