New name, same peace of mind shopping experience

Motus Select, previously known as Imperial Select, has a reputation for offering good quality used vehicles to the South African market and aims to continue doing so under this new brand, alongside a new website.

The name Motus might be new but it comes with heritage. Previously known as Imperial, the group has been around since 1948 and is a trusted automotive retail brand in South Africa as well as abroad. Motus Holdings was listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in November 2018 following its unbundling from Imperial Holdings Limited.

The rebranding of Imperial to Motus ties together all the company’s business interests to create South Africa’s largest automotive retail group with a countrywide dealer footprint. In conjunction with this rebranding, Imperial Select is now known as Motus Select.

Dealerships that customers have come to know and trust have been treated to new branding in line with the name change that ensures a more modern, appealing and up-market shopping experience.

The new corporate identity features the new Motus logo and a red, royal blue and white colour scheme that is modern, professional and inviting and gives these pre-owned dealerships a much more premium look and feel.

There are 22 Motus Select dealerships located across South Africa and about half of those have been completely rebranded in accordance with the name change. The rebranded facilities include those in Polokwane, Nelspruit, Alberton, Zambezi, Menlyn, Durban and Bloemfontein. The remainder will be treated to the same fresh new look and name change in the coming months.

Buyers who prefer to browse online can search the Motus Select website, for the vehicle they are looking for in terms of make, model and price and can also start the finance process online. The new Motus Select website receives in excess of 50 000 visitors per month.

There are currently more than 20 dealerships in the Motus Select network and this number will grow in the future. These dealers have access to more than 1 500 pre-owned vehicles, making it easy for buyers to find the right make and model to meet their requirements. All vehicles are owned by Motus ensuring that customers can shop with peace of mind knowing that they are buying a good quality vehicle backed by one of SAs largest dealer groups.

Motus Select dealers will also buy used vehicles provided they are from 2015 or later and have less than 120 000 km on the odometer, as well as a full-service history.

Shopping for a vehicle no longer needs to be limited to the customer’s geographical area. Motorists can shop a wide variety of vehicles on the Motus Select website and have their vehicle delivered to their nearest dealership anywhere in South Africa.

All pre-owned vehicles are subjected to a comprehensive check and the dealer will assist with the registration of the vehicle to the customer’s name, which means that apart from the inhouse checks all used cars include a valid roadworthy certificate. The Motus used car quality control process eliminates the chances of any stolen or rebuilt vehicles being offered for sale. is an award-winning Digital Media, Marketing, and Advertising Company est. 2015, is a Member of the Independent Media Association of South Africa (IMASA), and Brand South Africa's Play Your Part Ambassadors, with a global reach of over 10 million
