Breakfast/Brunch or High Tea

 

Over the last few years, we have definitely seen an increase in day time weddings. Couples are changing things up by having breakfast/brunch receptions, with light finger snacks & champagne after an intimate ceremony that morning. This is definitely a lighter option on the pocket. Ideas of a Mimosa Bar comes into play, keeping it fun and fresh with a variety of fruit juices, champagne & freshly sliced fruits.

 

A few brunch serving suggestions would be; Fresh Mini Bagels with Smoked Salmon & Dill Cream Cheese, Roast Cherry Tomato Tartlets with Goats Cheese Cream & Pesto and baked Frittatas with Spinach, Mushroom & Danish Feta. There are so many ideas to play with  to create your own brunch wedding menu.

 

Cocktail Style Wedding

 

Canapé’s and cocktail foods are always a hit and add a pop of colour. These treats look classy and taste fabulous too. The best thing about a Cocktail Menu is we can always work it to suit a budget and always ensure there is more than enough food for everyone. Some suggestions from Blue Strawberry include Prawn Lime Coriander & Chilli Shots, Preserved Fig & Goats Cheese Bruschetta, Blue Strawberry’s Signature Biltong and Cheese Samoosas; or why not add a mini bowl meal options, just to fill the crowd that little extra, from Signature Lamb Curries to Chow Mein Boxes, this option is fun and adds a touch of your favourite food to the menu. These are just some of the options provided by Blue Strawberry Caterers.

 

Plated and Buffet Menu’s

 

Considered to probably be the more traditional and formal option, this option can give an elegant & sophisticated feel to your reception, especially if you are looking for a seated affair. Having each guest served a three course dinner, to plated starters & buffet mains, the options are endless. Plated starters are a great way to start a dinner. A Sweet Cherry Tomato Tarte tatin with Goats Cheese Cream & Basil Pesto served with a Micro-green Salad; light & fresh; or Wild Mushroom Arancini Balls, served with a Roasted Garlic Lemon Aioli & Baby Leaf Salad; warm & inviting.

 

Otherwise an option of a more relaxed starter, having a selection of finger foods served to the table on boards, this allowing you to choose a variety of options that is suited to your palette, an idea starter board we have is, Chicken Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls, Chargrilled Peri-Peri & Cilantro Prawn Skewers, Chicken Liver Pate with Bruschetta Toasts & Mini Yorkshire Puddings with Rare Roasted Sirloin & Horseradish Cream.These are all great options to be served before moving on to a heavier main course.

In most cases it’s a good idea to have a buffet as a main course, giving your guests options to choose – but with Blue Strawberry it is feast style. This is a new more social way to have a main meal, recommended to choose two options of one red & one white meat. A firm favourite of white meat options is our Aromatic Chicken & Prawn Curry served with Basmati Rice & delicious trimmings to spruce it up. For the red meat option, a Pepper Seared Beef Fillet served with New Baby Potatoes & Roasted Vegetables or a Roast Lamb & Mint Pot Pie – delicious.

There will no doubt be vegetarians at your wedding and Blue Strawberry have a number of fabulous options to choose from, that of a Moroccan Vegetable & Hummus Phyllo Pie or a Spinach & Ricotta Tortellini in a Marinara Sauce topped with Pecorino Shavings. Whatever you are looking for we can help.
