Eastgate donates R 300 000 to Gift of the Givers

Eastgate Shopping Centre in Johannesburg has donated R300 000 of parking income to the Gift of the Givers Foundation. This non-profit organisation will use the funds to provide food parcels to communities in need within the Ekurhuleni municipality. The mall’s team recently visited a community in Vosloorus that is supported by the organisation, to distribute the first batch of food parcels.

The Gift of the Givers Foundation is the largest disaster response, non-governmental organisation of African origin on the African continent. It works to unite people, with a common vision, to make a real and telling difference by serving mankind for the greater good. While this is the first time that Eastgate has donated to this organisation, the mall’s holding company Liberty Two Degrees has supported the organisation in the past.

“There is so much need in our country, which the recent pandemic has only exacerbated. I would like to commend Gift of the Givers for the remarkable work they do and their constant efforts to improve the quality of life of those in need,” said Kelly Belman, General Manager for Eastgate Shopping Centre. “I am so pleased that we can contribute to their efforts to change lives for good through this donation” she added.
