1:19
1 minute, 19 seconds
today's program, alhamdulillah, someone messaged us to say for your talk on the six days of Shaw.
1:27
1 minute, 27 seconds
It inspired me to try it out for the first time and I managed all six fasts in a row. Alhamdulillah.
1:36
1 minute, 36 seconds
Alhamdulillah. That is such a beautiful message um to start the program with.
1:42
1 minute, 42 seconds
And alhamdulillah, we listen, we learn, and we grow inshallah with Allah subhanana wa ta'ala's guidance. And I'm
1:50
1 minute, 50 seconds
so glad and I hope that um those of you that have uh tried the six days have
1:57
1 minute, 57 seconds
managed, alhamdulillah, um those who still want to try, inshallah, Allah make it easy for you so that you do manage to
2:05
2 minutes, 5 seconds
do the six days, um the six fasts, inshallah, inshallah. So today in the program we're talking about World
2:13
2 minutes, 13 seconds
Optometry Day. Uh World Optometry Day is observed annually on the March the 23rd which was this week and it's more than
2:22
2 minutes, 22 seconds
just a celebration of eye doctors. It is a global call to treat vision care as a fundamental human right.
2:32
2 minutes, 32 seconds
uh 2026 theme was a shared vision collaboration in global eye care and it emphasizes that protecting site requires
2:42
2 minutes, 42 seconds
a team effort from schools and parents to primary doctors and specialists. So the reason why we observe world
2:50
2 minutes, 50 seconds
optometry day, the day was established originally in 1986. It's a beautiful year, alhamdulillah.
2:57
2 minutes, 57 seconds
Uh it's exactly 40 years ago and to highlight it's to highlight the critical role of opto that optometrists play as the first line of defense for our site.
3:09
3 minutes, 9 seconds
It serves three main purposes. The first is preventing avoidable blindness. So approximately 1 billion people worldwide
3:18
3 minutes, 18 seconds
have vision impairment that could have been prevented or treated. Number two is highlighting holistic health. An eye
3:26
3 minutes, 26 seconds
exam can often detect early signs of systemic issues like diabetes, high blood pressure and even certain
3:34
3 minutes, 34 seconds
neurological conditions. And number three is advocating for access. It pushes for integrated eye care in
3:42
3 minutes, 42 seconds
underresourced communities where a simple pair of glasses can change a life.
3:49
3 minutes, 49 seconds
So there's um also the importance for children and for elders. Okay. So
3:56
3 minutes, 56 seconds
importance for children uh vision is the primary gateway to learning. Since they often don't know what normal vision
4:04
4 minutes, 4 seconds
looks like, they rarely complain about it. The myopia boom. With the rise of digital screens and less time outdoors,
4:12
4 minutes, 12 seconds
nearsightedness, myopia, is skyrocketing. Early detection can slow its progression. Learning and
4:20
4 minutes, 20 seconds
development. Many children diagnosed with learning barriers actually have undiagnosed vision issues. Correcting
4:28
4 minutes, 28 seconds
sight improves concentration, literacy, and sports performance.
4:34
4 minutes, 34 seconds
Ambilopia is a lazy eye. If caught early, usually before age seven, conditions like lazy eye can be treated
4:41
4 minutes, 41 seconds
effectively. If missed, it can lead to permanent vision loss in that eye.
4:48
4 minutes, 48 seconds
Then in terms of elders, as we age, the risk of silent eye diseases increases significantly.
4:55
4 minutes, 55 seconds
For seniors, good vision is synonymous with independence.
5:00
5 minutes
Managing the big four. Regular checkups are vital for early detection of cataracts, glaucoma,
5:07
5 minutes, 7 seconds
diabetic retinopathy, and age related macular degeneration, AMD.
5:16
5 minutes, 16 seconds
Fall prevention, vision impairment is a leading cause of falls in the elderly.
5:20
5 minutes, 20 seconds
Ensuring the correct prescription and clear peripheral vision keeps seniors mobile and safe.
5:28
5 minutes, 28 seconds
Quality of life. Clear sight allows for continued engagement in hobbies like reading or driving which is crucial for mental health and preventing social
5:37
5 minutes, 37 seconds
isolation. So we have Issa. Well actually all three of us Nabia, myself and Issa, we all wear glasses. Yes.
5:47
5 minutes, 47 seconds
Shocking. Um we each have different stories obviously why we wear glasses.
5:52
5 minutes, 52 seconds
uh mine was because of a sports injury and but Issa would like to share uh why
5:59
5 minutes, 59 seconds
he celebrates or observes World Optometry Day and why it is important for other children to also make sure
6:09
6 minutes, 9 seconds
that they look after their eyes and um you know do the general eye care, go for
6:16
6 minutes, 16 seconds
checkups, especially like they said if you're under seven you can pick up things um that would help correct the
6:24
6 minutes, 24 seconds
vision which is still early. So Issa, tell us exactly why do you wear glasses?
6:31
6 minutes, 31 seconds
I wear glasses because I have a lazy left eye.
6:37
6 minutes, 37 seconds
Oh, okay. So can't you tell your eye not to be lazy?
6:42
6 minutes, 42 seconds
Um no. Um it's just that with the left eye
6:49
6 minutes, 49 seconds
like say on the right eye I can see things like images big and the left um
6:57
6 minutes, 57 seconds
like in small if I don't wear glasses like at home.
7:02
7 minutes, 2 seconds
So I was actually born with a lazy left eye.
7:08
7 minutes, 8 seconds
Okay. So you didn't know that your eye was lazy until what age were you not able to see clearly?
7:17
7 minutes, 17 seconds
I think about like almost 4 years ago in like July or August or something like when I was eight.
7:23
7 minutes, 23 seconds
So you were 8 years old. So for 8 years you you didn't know what the world was supposed to look like.
7:32
7 minutes, 32 seconds
No, like I can see like images and stuff like that, but with the left eye um I
7:41
7 minutes, 41 seconds
can't see like small words that's like very far or like like that.
7:48
7 minutes, 48 seconds
Okay. And then how how was it detected?
7:51
7 minutes, 51 seconds
How did you find out that did you have headaches? cuz I know a lot of kids say that they either have headaches or their
7:58
7 minutes, 58 seconds
eyes get really sore or you know what how did you find out that you couldn't see or it wasn't clear in your one eye?
8:07
8 minutes, 7 seconds
So in 2022 um I went to an optometrist
8:14
8 minutes, 14 seconds
uh aunt and Shireen Sherin Abu Bakr say who now has a a practice in Sunning Hill
8:23
8 minutes, 23 seconds
Medical Center and um she picked up that like so I did a so
8:33
8 minutes, 33 seconds
she did the test and um for me to see
8:39
8 minutes, 39 seconds
and stuff like that. And then um she picked up
8:46
8 minutes, 46 seconds
that I had a problem with one of my eyes and then I was sent to another like doctor or
8:55
8 minutes, 55 seconds
something and um that person said that my left eye was
9:03
9 minutes, 3 seconds
on holiday. So, did your left eye ever come back from holiday? Where was it in holiday in some island?
9:11
9 minutes, 11 seconds
No, it I don't know what it meant, but it was on holiday.
9:18
9 minutes, 18 seconds
So, basically what happened was um like Issa said, he was born with the left
9:25
9 minutes, 25 seconds
eye, which was um like they said on holiday. So he was basically using his right eye for the longest time like he
9:33
9 minutes, 33 seconds
said like seven or eight years and a lot of children go through this and they
9:40
9 minutes, 40 seconds
don't know we as parents don't know what um that they can't see because Issa
9:48
9 minutes, 48 seconds
would try to remember how certain things looked, how certain words looked and we thought that he could see perfectly
9:57
9 minutes, 57 seconds
And I know there's a lot of schools that do offer optometrists to come in and they do checks, but it's it's not always
10:06
10 minutes, 6 seconds
the case. So, it's always good for you to take your kids to the optometrist to
10:13
10 minutes, 13 seconds
do this. And like we said, this myopia boom because of lots of kids um looking
10:20
10 minutes, 20 seconds
at the screen a lot of the time, it wasn't the case with Issa. He was actually born with it. And there are a lot of kids like we said. Um and the the
10:28
10 minutes, 28 seconds
the test is not uh evasive. So it um Issa was it scary to do the test cuz
10:36
10 minutes, 36 seconds
some kids obviously don't want to do the test cuz they think it's scary. They think you they have to touch your eye or you know like what actually happens?
10:44
10 minutes, 44 seconds
So it wasn't scary. Um, so what happened was there's like on desk or something
10:53
10 minutes, 53 seconds
there's like a machine or something that's controlled by the optometrist
11:00
11 minutes
computer and um it's like a big machine
11:07
11 minutes, 7 seconds
thing and then you have to see through that eye thing and then there's like
11:14
11 minutes, 14 seconds
black uh circles that is there that like covers the one eye, but you have to keep
11:21
11 minutes, 21 seconds
both eyes open to to see. It's just that there's that blocked thing
11:30
11 minutes, 30 seconds
and um like to see the screen of like letters and stuff like that and numbers.
11:38
11 minutes, 38 seconds
Can you can you cheat in the test?
11:42
11 minutes, 42 seconds
No. No, you shouldn't because uh that will just that will just impair your
11:48
11 minutes, 48 seconds
vision longer. But um Issa, how has it been wearing the glasses and how is there a difference?
11:58
11 minutes, 58 seconds
Um there is like a difference. So, with the lazy left eye, I've got like a mag
12:07
12 minutes, 7 seconds
defined glass kind of lens on the left thing. And it actually looks like so
12:14
12 minutes, 14 seconds
much bigger than the right. And I can see clearly now. And alhamdulillah. Yeah.
12:23
12 minutes, 23 seconds
Alhamdulillah. And um in order to get this lazy eye not to be lazy anymore, are there any like exercises that you
12:31
12 minutes, 31 seconds
need to do? Is there anything extra that you need to eat or um how how does one you know like if you have this lazy eye,
12:41
12 minutes, 41 seconds
how do you correct it besides just wearing glasses?
12:45
12 minutes, 45 seconds
So um there is this. So like a few times
12:52
12 minutes, 52 seconds
I wear it's uh like a eye like a pirate eye patch um that you put on the right eye to
13:00
13 minutes
cover the right eye so you can see on the left. Sometimes I wear it without glasses and sometimes with glasses, but it's better to wear it without glasses.
13:12
13 minutes, 12 seconds
So then it jogs the left eye and um no, there isn't like something that you have
13:19
13 minutes, 19 seconds
to eat anything. Uh it's just like that.
13:25
13 minutes, 25 seconds
And then I don't know if all optometrist um
13:31
13 minutes, 31 seconds
things um have like a sheet um where you can uh do like activities or like color
13:41
13 minutes, 41 seconds
in or fill in things with the left eye when you have the patch on.
13:47
13 minutes, 47 seconds
So you do activities with the patch on to obviously to jog that left eye. So you cover your right eye and then your
13:55
13 minutes, 55 seconds
left eye helps you to to do the activities.
14:00
14 minutes
Yes. Um yeah. So that's it. But sometimes I just play with my cars or I color in a book or something like that.
14:12
14 minutes, 12 seconds
Okay. And then in terms of like screen time, uh do you have extra screen time, less screen time, normal amount of screen time? Uh, how does it work?
14:23
14 minutes, 23 seconds
Um, so I'm hardly on the phone to like check messages and pictures and stuff,
14:31
14 minutes, 31 seconds
so I wouldn't know. And uh yeah, so I hardly look at the screen to when I wear
14:40
14 minutes, 40 seconds
the patch or um you know like Yeah.
14:46
14 minutes, 46 seconds
Okay. So inshallah it will correct and those of you who are looking to um you
14:54
14 minutes, 54 seconds
know take your kids. There is a a lot of the optometrists do offer where you can go in and they do a free eye test. They
15:04
15 minutes, 4 seconds
give you free glasses I think up until the age of 12. Just find out at your local optometrist if um they do offer
15:12
15 minutes, 12 seconds
that. It's it's because like we said, it's it's a right for kids to see. It helps them with um their education with
15:21
15 minutes, 21 seconds
them being able to see when they're at school. So, look into that. Also like Issa said there is an optometrist in
15:30
15 minutes, 30 seconds
Sunning Hill Medical Center um uh Shireen Abu Baker Desai who has helped
15:38
15 minutes, 38 seconds
him like you can see um to to find out that he had a a problem and we managed
15:46
15 minutes, 46 seconds
to correct it. Alhamdulillah and inshallah it will be corrected fully.
15:51
15 minutes, 51 seconds
One thing I want to mention is that um I sometimes only wear glasses when I go
15:58
15 minutes, 58 seconds
out and I have spoken to other kids and they say they only um wear glasses like
16:06
16 minutes, 6 seconds
to write on the board or also like only when they go out and sometimes sometimes some of them wear it fully.
16:17
16 minutes, 17 seconds
Okay. So it's um it's also about dependency and I think at an early age if you're not dependent on the glasses
16:24
16 minutes, 24 seconds
then that also helps. I'm not an optometrist so I wouldn't be able to say if that's correct or not but um hopefully inshallah it does help.
16:34

And welcome back to Level Up. If you've just tuned in, we have been talking all about World Optometry Day. But right now
17:25
17 minutes, 25 seconds
we'll um talk about the latest news.
17:31
17 minutes, 31 seconds
Our sub line is open. The number is 0727861548 or you can call in on 011854722
17:42
17 minutes, 42 seconds
or you can even DM us on at L O V Z A M.
17:49
17 minutes, 49 seconds
Yes. So we did talk about World Optometry Day. If you miss the first half um don't worry it will be on radio
17:57
17 minutes, 57 seconds
Islam international Soundcloud during the week inshallah which we will share on all our platforms inshallah.
18:04
18 minutes, 4 seconds
So next weekend or this coming weekend is going to be a long weekend and we
18:11
18 minutes, 11 seconds
know that uh we often like to go down to the coast especially from Joberg to Durban and with the conflict in the
18:20
18 minutes, 20 seconds
Middle East the price of crude oil has risen significantly and we're looking at quite a big jump in our petrol price
18:29
18 minutes, 29 seconds
here in South Africa. I know that the diesel price in some places has already gone up. People have already pushed it up to almost 30 rand a liter.
18:39
18 minutes, 39 seconds
And I think it was just a few weeks ago where we were enjoying a 19 rand 99 rand a liter for petrol. And now we're
18:47
18 minutes, 47 seconds
looking at almost I think probably like 26 rand a liter. Um, we it hasn't been
18:54
18 minutes, 54 seconds
confirmed yet what the amounts will be, but it's going to be quite a bit. So, if you're looking to go down um to drive
19:03
19 minutes, 3 seconds
down from Johannesburg to Durban this weekend, you're going to be paying a little bit extra than than you would be
19:10
19 minutes, 10 seconds
normally. Also, the price of the tall gates have increased. It's about almost 350 rand for one way. So, you have to
19:20
19 minutes, 20 seconds
factor that in. as well. I think it's about 34750 if I'm not mistaken. Um, so you're
19:28
19 minutes, 28 seconds
looking at almost 350 rand each way. So that's 700 rand on talls and um you're
19:35
19 minutes, 35 seconds
looking at around 5 rand extra per liter for fuel. So
19:44
19 minutes, 44 seconds
those are the things that you need to consider. There are obviously alternatives. One is um to fill up now and then also take a few jetty cans with
19:53
19 minutes, 53 seconds
you to fill those up so that at least your trip down uh to the coast won't be that expensive so you get the cheaper
20:01
20 minutes, 1 second
fuel. It's a it's an option. Um I don't know if you'll have space to to pack it in with all your luggage, but there's
20:08
20 minutes, 8 seconds
that option. The other option is to obviously, you know, like not speed down. And if you don't have a time constraint, leave at a reasonable time.
20:18
20 minutes, 18 seconds
Um after fajger is always a good time to leave. The roads are a little bit emptier.
20:25
20 minutes, 25 seconds
Um plan your trip properly so that you know you don't make a lot of stops.
20:30
20 minutes, 30 seconds
You're not speeding to um you know try and catch up some time and use alternative routes. There are
20:37
20 minutes, 37 seconds
alternative routes to the tall roads which are actually we've tried them and they're actually much better not in
20:46
20 minutes, 46 seconds
terms of uh the road itself because some of them not not so much but in terms of that it's not so busy. The tall roads
20:55
20 minutes, 55 seconds
get very busy especially over the holiday periods and you sometimes get stuck at tolls. I know one of the tolls
21:02
21 minutes, 2 seconds
here in Johannesburg um they had a problem for a few days where they were offline and it just makes it
21:11
21 minutes, 11 seconds
so much more difficult when you're traveling and you want to go and you want to enjoy um your time away and have
21:19
21 minutes, 19 seconds
a rest and now you have to deal with things like being stuck in traffic at a at a tall gate. So there are alternative routes and there's some beautiful places
21:28
21 minutes, 28 seconds
here in South Africa to visit along the way. It's actually how we found the Nottingham Road uh masid as well because
21:37
21 minutes, 37 seconds
we took a um sort of a detour and we went off the the highway. So there's
21:45
21 minutes, 45 seconds
lots of places along the way. There's lots of um places to to make salah.
21:51
21 minutes, 51 seconds
There's lots of halal places along the way to eat. And if you plan it well, you probably wouldn't lose that much time. I
21:58
21 minutes, 58 seconds
think it's it's maybe 30 minutes to an hour extra maybe, depending on the routes that you take. You don't have to
22:07
22 minutes, 7 seconds
miss all the tolls. Um it's dependent on you, but I mean you save where you can
22:13
22 minutes, 13 seconds
and you can still um avoid the tolls and come back onto the highway if you need to to fill fuel. So there's those
22:22
22 minutes, 22 seconds
there's those alternatives as well. Then um if you're not traveling locally and you want to travel internationally, just
22:30
22 minutes, 30 seconds
be aware that there are quite a few um airports that have restrictions. So
22:39
22 minutes, 39 seconds
obviously because of the conflict in the Middle East, there have been a few uh problems. We know that now is actually
22:47
22 minutes, 47 seconds
they say now is actually a good time to go for Umrah. So if you manage to book uh to go now after Ramadan they say that
22:55
22 minutes, 55 seconds
it's less busier than obviously during Ramadan and Hajj time. So there is that option if you can afford to go for Umrah
23:04
23 minutes, 4 seconds
but there have been people that have been and they have run into some problems. I know there was people that
23:12
23 minutes, 12 seconds
have gone for Umrah and as soon as they landed in Dubai they were taken straight to bunkers and then once it was clear
23:19
23 minutes, 19 seconds
they were sent back home. Um but there have been people that have gone via Emirates or uh other airlines and have
23:29
23 minutes, 29 seconds
managed to get to um Saudi without a problem. Alhamdulillah they've performed their umrah. They've
23:38
23 minutes, 38 seconds
come back And um there are people that have gone recently
23:45
23 minutes, 45 seconds
within the last week as well that have alhamdulillah got through. So I think it's just a test from Allah subhanana wa
23:52
23 minutes, 52 seconds
ta'ala. Um you know we don't know we make the intention to go. Allah knows
23:58
23 minutes, 58 seconds
best whether we get there or whether we come back. Whatever the reason is, we
24:05
24 minutes, 5 seconds
trust Allah cuz Allah is the master planner. But do be aware that there could be roadblocks along the way in
24:15
24 minutes, 15 seconds
terms of um like I said, you could be sent back, you could have to stay in a country for a certain amount of time. Um so take those things into consideration.
24:25
24 minutes, 25 seconds
I know some people have um cancelled their trips and have moved it to June or
24:31
24 minutes, 31 seconds
July um to after the Hajj period, but do your research, speak to the locals, speak to people that have gone um and find out that information.
24:44
24 minutes, 44 seconds
Okay? So, um if you are choosing to go for Umrah, inshallah, may Allah make it easy for you. And uh one of the things
24:52
24 minutes, 52 seconds
that one of our listeners sent in um was that if you are thinking of going to
24:58
24 minutes, 58 seconds
Medina, there are different hotels that are closer to different landmarks. So if
25:06
25 minutes, 6 seconds
you want to stay closer to the Roa, choose hotels near gate 301 to 308 and
25:13
25 minutes, 13 seconds
365 to 369. So that's gates 301 to 308 or 365 to 369. These hotels are closer
25:22
25 minutes, 22 seconds
to the roa. And some hotels even have a view of the green dome. Okay? So write
25:29
25 minutes, 29 seconds
those down. Gates 301 to 308 or 365 to 369.
25:35
25 minutes, 35 seconds
And then for um our sisters, if you prefer to be near the ladies gate access with a shorter and easier walk,
25:43
25 minutes, 43 seconds
especially for our uh elderly, then gate 338.
25:50
25 minutes, 50 seconds
Um you close to the the shopping, the food, the cafes, and the money changes. So
25:57
25 minutes, 57 seconds
there's been da with the TA mall, the food court. So, choose hotels near gate 328 and 338 when you're booking. Um, if
26:07
26 minutes, 7 seconds
you want uh your hotel close to historical masid, so masid kama, masjid ali, masjid Abu Bakr, choose hotels near gate 309 to 313.
26:20
26 minutes, 20 seconds
So, if you want to be closer to the um ladies gate access, it's gate 328 to 338. If you want to be closer to
26:29
26 minutes, 29 seconds
historical masids, then choose your hotels between gate 309 and 313.
26:37
26 minutes, 37 seconds
And then if you want to stay near Masjid Bilal and the surrounding area, choose hotels near gate 310 and 326.
26:46
26 minutes, 46 seconds
And then lastly, if you want uh closer access to Jonathal Baki, choose hotels near gate 340 and 364.
26:57
26 minutes, 57 seconds
Some hotels even have a direct view of Jonathal Baki. So like I said again,
27:03
27 minutes, 3 seconds
Mashid Bilal and surrounding areas, gates 310 and 326 and Jonathal Baki are hotels near gate 340 to 364.
27:16
27 minutes, 16 seconds
Then something interesting that I also found out and I'm not sure if many parents do know. So if you are traveling
27:23
27 minutes, 23 seconds
with kids, there is a child care center at the Mashidel Haram.
27:28
27 minutes, 28 seconds
There's um close to the Haram Emergency Hospital near gate 100 to 104.
27:38
27 minutes, 38 seconds
It's in the third expansion area. Um, it's open 24 hours
27:44
27 minutes, 44 seconds
and they allow usually boys from 1 and a half to six years, girls from 1 and 1/2
27:51
27 minutes, 51 seconds
to 9 years. So, apparently it's a it's it's quite a nice space with a play area, a rest area, and supervision so
28:00
28 minutes
parents can make more ibada with more focus. Um, the cost they say is usually free for the first 3 hours. after that
28:09
28 minutes, 9 seconds
there are charges that apply. So if you're planning Umrah with children, I'm sure this can really help inshallah.
28:17
28 minutes, 17 seconds
And then I know that um you know a lot of us want to pray near the mataf um and if you're not in they don't allow you
28:26
28 minutes, 26 seconds
anymore, but there's still a way to pray with a caba view. Most people think you have to go down to the mataf but you
28:34
28 minutes, 34 seconds
don't. So you enter through gate 89 or 90 and go to the men's prayer area inside. From there you can still pray
28:42
28 minutes, 42 seconds
with a view of the cabba without going down. The view isn't fully open but you can still clearly see it. Obviously
28:51
28 minutes, 51 seconds
timing matters. So come early, you choose your spot and come late you'll have to follow the crowd. And then again
28:58
28 minutes, 58 seconds
for the ladies if you're looking for uh the bathrooms um it becomes very difficult if you
29:06
29 minutes, 6 seconds
walking around and you don't know where it is. So for the sisters the closest ones are WC1 at the Ajiad side, WC4 and
29:15
29 minutes, 15 seconds
5 near Zamzam Tower, WC7 at Jabul Omar side and near Marwa the Sai exit.
29:23
29 minutes, 23 seconds
There's also bathrooms there. Obviously, again, um it gets quite busy. Uh there's
29:31
29 minutes, 31 seconds
cues, so plan those bathroom breaks as well.
29:37
29 minutes, 37 seconds
And then the three best prayer spots. Um especially for women with a carba view the front area not the mataf you enter
29:46
29 minutes, 46 seconds
from gate one gate or gate 79 bab umrah then go down towards the mataf level
29:53
29 minutes, 53 seconds
look for the woman's area near the pillars you can sit and pray facing the cabba directly with zamzam right in
30:00
30 minutes
front okay and then the mataf area you go down through gate one or gate 79 bab umrah to
30:09
30 minutes, 9 seconds
the Tawwah area. This is the closest you can be to the Caba. Then level two, the upper floor level, use escalators from
30:18
30 minutes, 18 seconds
gate 91 or 92 or the King Abdul Aziz gate. There's more space. It's less
30:25
30 minutes, 25 seconds
crowded with a clear view of the Caba from above.
30:30
30 minutes, 30 seconds
Okay, so those are just a few things that you can do um to make your Umrah easier, inshallah.
30:38
30 minutes, 38 seconds
And may Allah take all of us for Umrah and for Hajj inshallah.
30:43
30 minutes, 43 seconds
So speaking about Umra and Hajj and then you mentioned that inshallah we will all get a chance to go there for to perform
30:51
30 minutes, 51 seconds
umrah and to perform Hajj inshallah. I mean there's something that I saw online and you know how I always say make sure
30:58
30 minutes, 58 seconds
that your whatever you do online is worth it you know like is beneficial for you. So that so so in that way I always
31:05
31 minutes, 5 seconds
managed to uh see these like um Islamic accounts you know. So one of the Islamic
31:13
31 minutes, 13 seconds
accounts is online Quran mentor and then I saw that they had this post that said the risk of Omrah and Hajj chases you
31:21
31 minutes, 21 seconds
once you start reciting these two verses during tashahood and you get to the opportunity to visit the house of Allah
31:28
31 minutes, 28 seconds
inshallah. So um I saw it. It said that after you know inahood in salah after you recite then you must recite these
31:37
31 minutes, 37 seconds
two verses. The first verse is surah ayah 59 and then the second verse is
31:44
31 minutes, 44 seconds
surah al bakar ayah 128 right. So in your salah you read your right and then you read this ayah from surah.
32:06
32 minutes, 6 seconds
Okay. And then the second verse is from surah al bakar. I'm sure you've heard this one before.
32:15
32 minutes, 15 seconds
ina.
32:18
32 minutes, 18 seconds
So according to this post, I'm not sure if it's true if anyone, you know, continues to do so and that they do that
32:25
32 minutes, 25 seconds
they are invited to go for to perform um and Hajj inshallah but um I think we should try it from now onwards inshallah
32:33
32 minutes, 33 seconds
um make a point of remembering after reciting these two verses and inshallah may Allah invite us all to visit his
32:42
32 minutes, 42 seconds
house his uh the house of Allah the cabba um and perform umrah and perform on page inshallah. Amen.
32:49
32 minutes, 49 seconds
Before we wrap up today's uh program, I just want to read a little story that I saw on social media. Um it says, "What
32:57
32 minutes, 57 seconds
you leave behind will speak for you long after your voice is gone." A child walked into the masid after
33:05
33 minutes, 5 seconds
Mahreb. The lights were dim. The people were leaving. But he stayed sitting quietly in a corner holding a small pair of worn shoes.
33:16
33 minutes, 16 seconds
When he was asked where his father was, his answer did not just break hearts, it revealed a legacy.
33:24
33 minutes, 24 seconds
My father used to bring me here every day, but he died last week.
33:31
33 minutes, 31 seconds
And when asked who brought him today, he said something that echoes louder than any inheritance.
33:39
33 minutes, 39 seconds
No one. I walked alone.
33:44
33 minutes, 44 seconds
Baba said, "If I ever feel sad, I should come to Allah's house because Allah listens when no one else does." Let's pause for a minute.
33:56
33 minutes, 56 seconds
What has just happened?
33:58
33 minutes, 58 seconds
A man has left this world, but he is still being obeyed. He is still guiding, still teaching, still earning.
34:08
34 minutes, 8 seconds
Not through wealth, not through status, but through a seed he planted in the heart of his child.
34:16
34 minutes, 16 seconds
This is the kind of legacy that does not stay buried. While people spend their lives building houses their children may
34:23
34 minutes, 23 seconds
fight over, this man built something inside his child that guided him back to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
34:31
34 minutes, 31 seconds
And when that little boy raised his hands and said, "Ya Allah, everyone says my father is with you now. Please tell
34:40
34 minutes, 40 seconds
him I came to the masid today just like he taught me." That moment is heavier than the years of
34:49
34 minutes, 49 seconds
ibada done without sincerity because this is ongoing
34:56
34 minutes, 56 seconds
because this is an ongoing reward. This is love that continued beyond the grave.
35:03
35 minutes, 3 seconds
This is that did not end with death.
35:09
35 minutes, 9 seconds
Every step that child takes toward the masid, his father receives it. Every tear he sheds while turning to Allah
35:17
35 minutes, 17 seconds
subhanahu wa ta'ala, his father is raised by it. Every dua that leaves his small lips, it reaches a grave that can no longer speak for itself.
35:28
35 minutes, 28 seconds
This is what it means to truly leave something behind. Not just children who remember your name, but children who
35:36
35 minutes, 36 seconds
remember your rob. Not just children who miss your presence, but children who continue your alarik.
35:45
35 minutes, 45 seconds
Because one day you will be gone too.
35:47
35 minutes, 47 seconds
And your children will either carry your habits or carry your absence. They will either say, "My parent taught me how to
35:56
35 minutes, 56 seconds
return to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala." Or they will search the world not knowing where to go when their hearts break. So
Repeat the things you want echoed after your death. Because one quiet sentence today, go to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
36:19
36 minutes, 19 seconds
when you are sad can become a light in your grave tomorrow.
36:24
36 minutes, 24 seconds
And perhaps one day when no one remembers your achievements, no one mentions your name and your place in this world has been replaced.
36:35
36 minutes, 35 seconds
A small voice in a quiet masid will whisper, "Ya Allah, tell them I came
36:44
36 minutes, 44 seconds
just like they taught me." And that will be the legacy that saves you.
36:51
36 minutes, 51 seconds
Subhan Allah. What a beautiful story.
36:54
36 minutes, 54 seconds
Alhamdulillah. I'm sure it must have brought some tears to our listeners eyes um to your eyes as well as you always
37:02
37 minutes, 2 seconds
take Issa to the masid and you've taken him from the time he was small. I think the the main thing also is to remind him
37:10
37 minutes, 10 seconds
and remind um listeners to remind your children that if you ever feel sad go to the house of Allah. You don't only have to go to the house of Allah, you know,
37:18
37 minutes, 18 seconds
you you can also, you know, make woodoo, proper woodoo, sit on the malah and just go into the sujud position, you know,
37:28
37 minutes, 28 seconds
and just even if you have nothing to say and you don't or you don't know how to say it,
37:35
37 minutes, 35 seconds
you don't know the words to say, just go into sudjud position and I know that that actually also brings you a bit of
37:43
37 minutes, 43 seconds
relief. Sometimes it brings tears and then it brings relief. But yeah, always make sure that we turn to Allah. You
37:51
37 minutes, 51 seconds
know, there's that um uh I think one of the prophets, it's we have a little
37:58
37 minutes, 58 seconds
Quranic verse from there and it says, "I only complain of my pain and my sorrow and sadness to Allah alone."
38:06
38 minutes, 6 seconds
But yeah, alhamdulillah Isa and Zad for a lovely show
38:14
38 minutes, 14 seconds
um about optometry and Umrah and traveling. And for those of our listeners who are traveling now that
38:22
38 minutes, 22 seconds
it's going to be the long weekend, if you're traveling in and around South Africa, please be safe and drive safely.
38:29
38 minutes, 29 seconds
Try and look for like certain ways where you can save or you know you don't use too much maybe when you're filling. I
38:36
38 minutes, 36 seconds
know there's there's that thing that if you're filling during the morning or the late evening or late afternoon times then um you tend to get more petrol in.
38:48
38 minutes, 48 seconds
I'm not 100% sure about that. We have to speak to and I'm sure he'll say oh on another show because it's time to wrap up. But
38:57
38 minutes, 57 seconds
yes, if you're traveling in and around South Africa and you're driving, travel safely. If you're flying, inshallah, you have safe flights. If you're flying
39:05
39 minutes, 5 seconds
internationally, may Allah keep you safe and protected, take you wherever you need to go to safely, keep you safe, and bring you
39:13
39 minutes, 13 seconds
safely back, return safely back to your country um safely, inshallah. Amen. with
39:20
39 minutes, 20 seconds
everything that's going on to our dear listeners for joining us on this lovely Sunday afternoon.
39:28
39 minutes, 28 seconds
Please join us every Sunday from 2 to 300 p.m. right here on Radio Islam International. Inshallah from myself,
39:36
39 minutes, 36 seconds
Nabiha, from Isa, and from Zad. Enjoy your Sunday and we wish you a wonderful week ahead. Inshallah.
