said when any one of you intends to sacrifice an animal and enter in the month of hijah he should not get his

hair cut or nails paired till he has offered his sacrifice.

It is mustahab recommended according to the hanafi madhab for a person making kurbani not to cut the hair and nails

from the first of hijah until after slaughtering the kurbani animal due to the possibility of dulija 1447

starting on Sunday night anyone intending to do kurbani should cut hair and pair their nails before sunset on Sunday the 17th of May 2026.

So the sighting for the start of the month of 1447 shall be on Sunday the

17th of May 2026 if cited first of 1447 shall be on Monday the 18th of May 2026.

the beginning of this month we had the inverted commas controversy of whether the moon was cited or it was wasn't

cited for the first of um it wasn't cited um but it was cited and then it was too late to make a mention.

Yeah. So then when we received the message, I think it was like 12 on Sunday just before uh the program that

like you make an intention and you know you're not going to get through cuz it's not easy for everyone you know outside

alhamdulillah but um you know Arafat the day of Arafa to fast on that day um to

make lots of dua, you know, just try and block that day out as much as you can in terms of dunya things, you know, doing

worldly things. And uh even though we not there um physically spiritually we
9 minutes, 26 seconds
can be there to um you know with the huj to make dua to fast to do lots of ibada extra salasah.

Amen. And then obviously if you can in that 9 days if the um well it would fall on Mondays or Thursdays then you can
9 minutes, 45 seconds
fast those as well because those are sunna days to fast insham. Yeah. So u that would be um the

day of would be the day before and that would be either Tuesday or Wednesday depending on obviously if the
10 minutes
moon is cited tonight inshallah I think last year we were quite blessed. I think the day of Arafa was on Friday if I'm not mistaken.

of hijah are among the most beloved days to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala making them

some of the most meaningful days of the year for your family.

Number one dua for success in both worlds.

Oh Allah, give us good in this world and good in the hereafter and protect us from the punishment of the fire.

Number two, dua for sincere in repentance.

Oh Allah, grant me sincere repentance before death.

Number three, dua for protection.

always nice to say um every day you know every day of the week, every month, every year inshallah. So we must actually make a habit of reading those

and then maybe a little bit more so um in this month inshallah I mean but you may carry on

what does that sound like to you? It sounds like exactly. So you would know the English of that one.

Yes. It's there is none worthy of worship besides Allah. He is alone and

has no partners. Unto him belongs the kingdom. Unto him is dual praise. He grants life and causes death. In his

hand is all good and he has power over everything.

Yes. So if you've been wanting to make dul hijah more meaningful at home, you can start with those um simple duas. But like I've mentioned, it's always nice to

read especially um duas 1 to 5 every day. You know, we don't have to wait for a certain month or a day to read those.

And then um Issa has a few stories that will help us about gula

um because we know that children build their faith through stories. You know a child may forget facts quickly but they

can remember like certain points in history. So inshallah Isa you may start with telling us um the stories that

you've learned that happen in dula or that would help us to learn more about hija inshallah

we should remember about the story about the cabba when Ibraimisam

and Ismaisam built together stone by stone asking Allah subhanah wa ta'ala to accept their efforts.

Then we should remember the story of Hajar's trust in Allah subhanahu wa
21 minutes, 57 seconds
ta'ala when she ran seven times between two hills alone in a desert
22 minutes, 5 seconds
because she trusted that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala would provide.

We know those two hills are now called Safa and Marwa and that Allah subhanahu
22 minutes, 18 seconds
wa ta'ala provided zam for her and her baby to drink.

We should remember the day of Arafa, the greatest day of the year. A day when
22 minutes, 33 seconds
kids can write their own duas and raise their hands too.

We should also remember when Ibraimisam said yes to sacrifice when Allah

subhanana wa ta'ala asked him to sacrifice something he loved the most

as kids we can practice this too that is giving of what we love. Shukran Issa for

that. Um, Issa did mention that uh the day of Arafa is the greatest day of the year, a day when kids can write
23 minutes, 12 seconds
their own duas and raise their hands too. And um it is
23 minutes, 19 seconds
said that uh prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam said that um on the day of Arafa if you fast on the day of Arafa
23 minutes, 28 seconds
then your sins are forgiven for the previous year and the year to come doesn't mean that you must now go out
23 minutes, 37 seconds
and sin more for the next year because you fasted the day of Arafa. But I believe Nabia, you were saying something

about it's not the major sins, it's the minor sins that are forgiven.

Yes. So we must remember that it's only the minor sins that are forgiven. And I mean that's why we continuously read because we are sinning all the time.

Maybe even without us knowing. So that that's why it's always good to read. But it's a minor sense and people think like

certain things that you know would be like maybe backbiting or something. They think that's minor. That's actually a major sin.

Major sins. Um Okay. Yeah, you can carry on. No, just you know when when you said um we sinning without even knowing and

you know we always ask for math of people we say uh whether we've done something intentionally or unintentionally and we don't I think we

don't say enough that we uh make for the sins that we've done knowingly or unknowingly.

Mhm. Yeah. So um so you know the the the sins of uh that are being expeed is
24 minutes, 48 seconds
basically for minor sins only not the major ones and it's actually mentioned that the major sins are like missing
24 minutes, 56 seconds
prayers intentionally backbiting or consuming interest and a lot of people think that that's just minor that's major.

Yeah. Yeah. You think that that backbiting um you know it's it's a common occurrence and you think oh it's
25 minutes, 11 seconds
just a minus and you know and it actually isn't there there's lots of hadith about it that how um severe the
25 minutes, 20 seconds
punishment is for backbiting and we shouldn't take it lightly and it it is a a major sin.

Exactly. So those require sincere specific repentance and obviously stop try and stop doing that.

No. And I think like like you say stop.

We shouldn't even classify major and minor sins. You you sinning or um you think that you're sinning, you should
25 minutes, 43 seconds
ask for you should repent as much as possible. And like you say, stop stop doing it. It's it's difficult. We're

human, right? We all we all sin. We all have our our sins that that that we're carrying around. No one is is perfect.

Um whether we think that that that we're perfect or we think that we we're not sinning. There are certain things that we are doing like you say intentionally

or unintentionally that are sins and we should continuously ask for um for forgiveness.

But you know what I also read recently about um is that it's yes we we can say oh stuff like that, we actually need to
26 minutes, 25 seconds
say it with um conviction.

Yeah. You know, we we need to say it, but also make an intention to not continue. So, you can't just say um my
26 minutes, 37 seconds
my sins are going to be forgiven and you know, I can continue my life the way I have. No, it's making an effort effort to try and
26 minutes, 46 seconds
you know, be better in try and not you know, try to be more aware of how you are and then not sin. And then um
26 minutes, 53 seconds
and maybe do something like if you were doing like say for example we'll use backbiting as a because like I said it's
27 minutes
a common occurrence. So instead of doing that, try doing something else. When your tongue is uh feel like it's going
27 minutes, 8 seconds
to say something bad about someone, then um read durude or something or you know take yourself out of that situation
27 minutes, 16 seconds
because maybe it's the company that you're keeping that um perpetuates this this behavior of this backbiting. So if
27 minutes, 23 seconds
you take yourself out of that situation and you know like be on on your own so that you don't uh even if you're just
27 minutes, 31 seconds
listening to that backbiting you know it's it's it's a sin but also you know contributing and then going and
27 minutes, 39 seconds
continuing talking about whatever it is it's it's it's also a sin.

Exactly. And then um another point you make is that this uh fasting is for those who are not on Hajj. has to be you
27 minutes, 53 seconds
know I'm I'm sure a lot of people already know this but for those who don't know for those who are not on Hajj they won't be fasting because um they

already on Hajj yes and they already um engage in the you know the physically demanding rituals of Hajj

so you know this is the the the fasting is for us well that's why I said it's it's it's something for us to be a part of because

we are not there um but we also want to be there spiritually we and to uh also maximize
28 minutes, 25 seconds
our uh ibada and also gain the benefits that uh the huaja are getting from being there physically.

Yeah. And then um we'll go more about um you know day of Arafa cuz I have something else to say about that.

basically you know now inshallah tomorrow or uh Tuesday will be the start of and we've been seeing a lot about

Allah swore by these 10 days you know don't waste them um there's even something I think in surah al fud where

it says by the dawn and by the 10 nights so it's it's actually you know uh known

where where is this notice okay from days 1 to three the window has opened so

they say try and fast make give sodaka every good deed counts more now than any

other time of the year so basically that's the window you know it starts from the first. It always starts from the first of the month. Then they're

saying from days four to six don't slow down. You know the middle days are where most people they lose focus stay. So we

need to learn to stay consistent and every prayer every intention counts.

Yeah. I think it's also like you know the first uh 10 days of Ramadan you trying to get into it. So it's the

same thing now in the you you you're trying to get into it because for a lot of people it's not unfortunately it's

it a daily habit and I mean that's why we have Ramadan so you can continue and we say that we want to continue whatever we've done during Ramadan throughout the

year so that when you come to months like um you you know it's it's easier for you

to do the the things that you've mentioned.

Yes. And this is just a gentle reminder also you know just in case you haven't been but if you have alhamdulillah

continue to do so. So yes so days 7 to 8 of those um they say the biggest days

are almost here. increase your Toba, seek forgiveness, prepare your heart. Um

yafa would be the next day. But I also read a lot of um um over the years a lot of people send duas and say read duas

for your children. Make duas for your children especially on you know especially on those days 7 to 8 days.

And then of course day nine is yulafa day of and then they say fasting on this day

expediates sins of two years even from home make dua do seek forgiveness don't miss this and I'll tell you why you know

oh there's more to say what to do on uh fast the whole day make as much dua as possible recite

This is the day of gratitude and joy. So we know that we don't fast on especially the two days of Eid and also 3 days after Eida.

9th of Tula and it won't be here. So I understand. So I suppose make an intention to um if you can't manage the

there's different um uh difference in days here Allah knows best Allah knows best but why is mount Arafa

important you know why why do they keep saying you know this day of Arafa so um we know that mount Arafa is the place

where prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam delivered his farewell sermon during his final Hajj, you know, on that

sacred plane where rich and poor and kings and workers, you know, people of every language and nation stood together

and now stand together as well wearing the simple reminding us that the world before

Allah, reminding all of us, you know, like this world that uh and doing this before Allah, in front of Allah that all hearts are equal.

There is no one better than another.

There's no one lesser than another. We are all equal. And it's also said that there's no day on which Allah frees more

people from the fire than the day of Arafa. Subhan Allah.

So yes, um you know, it's a it's one of the greatest days of Islam. It's a day of forgiveness and mercy. It's a day when countless souls are freed from the fire. the most important day of Hajj.

The day filled with sincere day dua and repentance. Um a reminder of hum unity,

humility, submission to Allah. Um and then yeah, we just need to make sure that we make sincere dua from the heart

and seek forgiveness for all our sins, send abandon. So that's why we should try as much as possible in these first

few days of hijah to try and do as much you know just like how you would have that same conviction like you said for

for for Ramadan where you read the Quran and remember Allah con constantly try that and then maybe just don't leave it

for you know these 9 days or 10 days continue with it inshallah amen.

Yeah. And may Allah accept, okay, let's make a dua. Oh Allah, accept the the Hajj of every pilgrim, forgive our sins,

grant us sincere repentance, write our names among the forgiven, and allow us to stand on the plains of Arafa one day with faith and tears.

And then I like that um stories that Issa said before because um we know that like we said like I said earlier that

children build their faith through stories. You know, children may forget facts quickly, but they'll remember

learning how Hajar uh trusted Allah alone in the desert, how Ibraimisam and

Ismaelisam built the Caba together stone by stone, and how millions of us still follow in their footsteps today. And

these children, these stories give children something bigger than information.

They give them courage when life feels uncertain, trust when they feel afraid, and love for Allah that feels personal

and real. And becomes unforgettable when children see themselves inside these
37 minutes, 49 seconds
stories writing their own duas on giving for Allah's pleasure and celebrating Eid
37 minutes, 56 seconds
with meaning instead of, you know, just routine.

So these small conversations that we can have at home, they shape the way a child sees Allah for the rest of their life.

And you know some sometimes one powerful story during these 10 days can stay in a child's heart longer than years of reminders.

we realize that there's certain struggles that we also go through and even the prophets went through struggles

as well you know and you know the these these stories remind us that like you say that we okay we're not all equal in

terms of the prophets but I'm saying you know like um everybody goes through something I think I also read something about that

the reason that Allah sent these messages messengers as humans with you know certain um trials in their life is
39 minutes, 12 seconds
to show us that they were also human you know and they went through that and they trusted in Allah so We should look
39 minutes, 21 seconds
to that. You know, if ever you want to look for a role model, look to them, to any one of them, and look at their
39 minutes, 28 seconds
stories and realize that trials happen before us. Yes.

You know, all of those things happened before us. So, we're not alone in going through this and that Allah helped them and Allah will help us inshallah. Amen.
