It's the sixth day of 1447 ah alhamdulillah we in the uh first
29 seconds
10 days of dulijah the most blessed days alhamdulillah and it corresponds to Sunday the 24th of
38 seconds
May 2026 I am Zad Plachis and with me are my co-hosts Nabia and Issa Plachis. Welcome
47 seconds
to Level Up, where we listen, learn, and grow, inshallah, with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's guidance, and we break down the
54 seconds
week's news and talk about what really matters to young Muslims today. Our WhatsApp line is open. The number is 0727861548.
1 minute, 5 seconds
You can call in on 01854702 or you can DM us on
1 minute, 14 seconds
that's ov zoom m. We're on Instagram, Facebook x,
1 minute, 22 seconds
LinkedIn, YouTube, Tik Tok threads as well as upcrolled.
1 minute, 29 seconds
So today we have quite a busy show as usual. Um, after the half hour, Isa will be catching up with the co-founder
1 minute, 37 seconds
and chairman of Zero Carbon Charge, Joubert Roux. But right now, let's take a look at some of the top stories this week.
1 minute, 48 seconds
So, let's start with a bit of tech. Um, Honor officially expanded its lineup in South Africa with the local launch of the Honor 600 and Honor 600 Pro.
1 minute, 59 seconds
[snorts]
2 minutes
For this generation, Honor has completely unified the design language for the first time in their number
2 minutes, 7 seconds
series. The standard 600 and the 600 Pro share the exact same physical footprint
2 minutes, 14 seconds
screen size and a premium one piece aluminum unibody structure. The core differences come down to internal
2 minutes, 23 seconds
processing tiers and the rear camera specifications.
2 minutes, 28 seconds
So um both of them the standard and the pro have a 6.57 in OLED screen. Um the
2 minutes, 38 seconds
standard has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 while the uh Pro has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 4 processor.
2 minutes, 50 seconds
In terms of memory and storage, the standard has a 12 gig uh RAM with 250
2 minutes, 57 seconds
gigs of storage, while the Pro has 12 gigs of RAM and 512 gigs of storage.
3 minutes, 4 seconds
The rear cameras, there's a dual setup for the standard with a 200 megapixel
3 minutes, 11 seconds
main and 12 megapixel ultra wide and macro camera. while the uh Pro has a
3 minutes, 20 seconds
triple setup. So they have a 200 megapixel uh camera, the main camera, 12 megapixel ultrawide and a 50 megapixel
3 minutes, 29 seconds
periscope telephoto 3.5x zoom uh camera.
3 minutes, 36 seconds
The f front cameras are both 50 megapixel. So quite um advanced cameras
3 minutes, 42 seconds
for this series, the Honor 600. um battery and charging. It's a 7,000
3 minutes, 49 seconds
milliamps and 80 watt wide supercharge as well. So, there's a um with the
3 minutes, 58 seconds
uh that's with the standard and with the Pro, there's a 80 watt wide plus a 50 watt wireless charging.
4 minutes, 5 seconds
And if you're looking at pricing, it's 149 for the standard and 199 for the Pro.
4 minutes, 13 seconds
Um, if you're looking to take it out on contract, there's contracts from 549 rand a month for the standard and 799 rand a month for the Pro.
4 minutes, 24 seconds
So, I think um some of the standout highlights um of these two phones is obviously the
4 minutes, 31 seconds
massive 7,000 milliamp battery. [snorts] Uh this is easily one of the largest battery capacities in this class for 2026.
4 minutes, 42 seconds
Combined with the 80watt wide charging, it's heavily built for power users who want to comfortably push past a full day
4 minutes, 50 seconds
or even a weekend without hunting for a charger.
4 minutes, 55 seconds
Um, then obviously the 200 megapixel ultra clear uh AI night camera. So, both
5 minutes, 2 seconds
phones carry a massive 1 and a4 in primary sensor making it highly capable in challenging low light environments.
5 minutes, 11 seconds
The Pro variant steps it up by adding a 50 megapixel telephoto lens with up to
5 minutes, 18 seconds
120 times digital zoom and advanced sea 6.5 stabilization.
5 minutes, 26 seconds
There's also a dedicated physical AI button. Um, so that gives you instant
5 minutes, 33 seconds
access to the devices heavy suite of ondevice AI tools.
5 minutes, 38 seconds
And then in terms of AI image to video 2.0, Honest flagship creative tool lets you take up three static photos from
5 minutes, 48 seconds
your gallery. Throw in a natural language text prompt and have the phone's ondevice multimodule
5 minutes, 55 seconds
model generate a seamless 3 to 5 second dynamic video sequence.
6 minutes, 2 seconds
Um, there's also AI photo agent, so an integrated photo editing assistant that allows you to cleanly remove background
6 minutes, 9 seconds
distractions, passes by, or glass reflections using simple voice or text commands.
6 minutes, 17 seconds
Both devices are now hitting shelves across major South African mobile networks and retail electronic stores.
6 minutes, 24 seconds
The base model is available in orange or black while the pro variant comes in orange or a unique golden white. The
6 minutes, 33 seconds
orange is quite quite a nice color I must say. Um, and I think uh for the mid-range
6 minutes, 41 seconds
uh devices 149 and 199 quite a a good pricing structure in terms of what you
6 minutes, 51 seconds
get from the Honor 600 and the Honor 600 Pro.
6 minutes, 56 seconds
In other news, um there was the Global Sumud Flotilla.
7 minutes, 2 seconds
Alhamdulillah, the volunteers from South Africa um were released this week. So
7 minutes, 9 seconds
following a ma massive logistical and diplomatic effort, the occupation government released and deported the
7 minutes, 17 seconds
remaining 422 international flotilla participants who were detained on Tuesday during the high seas interception.
7 minutes, 26 seconds
The vast majority of the volunteers, including the South African contingent, were flown out of the occupation area on
7 minutes, 34 seconds
three specially arranged Turkish Airlines flights to Istanbul, Turkey.
7 minutes, 41 seconds
Um, organizers from the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the FFC and the global Sumud Flotilla have held press conferences in
7 minutes, 50 seconds
Istanbul detailing severe misconduct during captivity. Return volunteers are undergoing comprehensive medical evaluations.
7 minutes, 59 seconds
Organiza organizers have documented extensive physical trauma, including severe bruising and fractured ribs.
8 minutes, 7 seconds
Activists alleged they were held in makeshift prison containers aboard naval vessels without running water or
8 minutes, 14 seconds
blankets, and at least 15 formal allegations of targeted sexual violence, humiliation, and assault have been raised.
8 minutes, 25 seconds
So while the occupation have uh officially denied these claims, calling them entirely without factual basis,
8 minutes, 32 seconds
international legal teams are moving forward. Italian prosecutors in Rome have already opened an official criminal
8 minutes, 39 seconds
investigation into charges of kidnapping, torture, and sexual assault based on testimonies from returning citizens.
8 minutes, 48 seconds
Then last night we saw there was an attack at the Basque airport in Baloa.
8 minutes, 54 seconds
Um so according to some sources there was a
9 minutes, 1 second
large crowd of anxious family members at the the airport obviously waiting for the volunteers from the global Sumud
9 minutes, 10 seconds
flotilla. [gasps] And um apparently one of the activists,
9 minutes, 19 seconds
a family member tried to cross a security barrier to embrace their loved one, which many of
9 minutes, 27 seconds
us do um when we at the airport. We must have done it at least a dozen times. um not like gone into the terminal but
9 minutes, 36 seconds
actually just you know like gone past that little uh line there at the airport because you know we're happy to see a
9 minutes, 44 seconds
family member. you don't think at that time and this obviously uh led to the
9 minutes, 51 seconds
er sens the Basque Autonomous Regional Police uh responding with sudden physical force deploying batons against
10 minutes
the crowd. [snorts] Um there were lots of the flotilla
10 minutes, 7 seconds
volunteers that obviously got involved put their um you know tried to to jump in front of
10 minutes, 15 seconds
the police. So they were physically injured as well again after the injuries
10 minutes, 21 seconds
that they've suffered while they um were you know in in captivity.
10 minutes, 30 seconds
And apparently there were at least four people um including three recently returned flotilla participants that were
10 minutes, 37 seconds
arrested by the Spanish state parliament paramilitary police during the chaos.
10 minutes, 45 seconds
Um and the global summ flatillaa has issued a sharp condemnation of the Bilboa incident calling it an uncons
10 minutes, 53 seconds
unconsionable failure of basic humanity and demanding an independent international investigation into why local regional
11 minutes, 2 seconds
police use such heavy-handed tactics against traumatized civilians returning from a conflict zone.
11 minutes, 12 seconds
Then this weekend um we saw the National Extreme Festival return home to Swad Corps Raceway uh with round three of the 2026 Championships.
11 minutes, 22 seconds
Um there was a South African touring cars. Um there was the Folks Vagen Super Polo Cup. So the Toyota GR Cup action
11 minutes, 32 seconds
was arguably the most frantic part of the weekend with three separate subcategories sharing the tight Suarez layout.
11 minutes, 41 seconds
So in the GR Cup media challenge um the big headline entering the weekend was whether anyone could break the absolute
11 minutes, 48 seconds
strangle hold of Nabil Abdul from Super Sport who arrived at SWAT Cops entirely undefeated with four straight wins under
11 minutes, 56 seconds
his belt and also taking pole position yesterday.
12 minutes
Um, running on his effective home turf, Abdul managed to continue his phenomenal composed 2026 run. At the front,
12 minutes, 9 seconds
defending aggressively against his close title rival Craig Nicholson from News 24.
12 minutes, 15 seconds
Behind them was Kumbi Shakazi from Kulakani on Wheels, who put on a brilliant physical display to stay
12 minutes, 24 seconds
in the hunt for a podium finish alongside ENCA's Justin Ford. All eyes were also on the debut of the GR Cup hot
12 minutes, 33 seconds
seat guest car driven by sim racer and rookie rally competitor Gurly Lucle who adapted impressively quick to the
12 minutes, 42 seconds
high-speed asphalt lines after transitioning over from gravel.
12 minutes, 48 seconds
Last night we also saw the UEFA Women's Champions League which was held in Oslo with Barcelona taking on Lyon. Leon held
12 minutes, 57 seconds
together in the first half, but Barcelona came back strong, scoring four goals to clinch victory and take home the cup.
13 minutes, 5 seconds
While on the subject of football, um for the Liverpool fans, uh Liverpool Football Club made a massive retail move
13 minutes, 13 seconds
this month, officially launching its first standalone retail stores on the African continent right here in South
13 minutes, 21 seconds
Africa. With an estimated 12.5 million local supporters, the largest international LFC fan base of any
13 minutes, 29 seconds
country, the club partnered with homegrown South African leisureware brand Old School to bring the official and field retail experience directly to local fans.
13 minutes, 41 seconds
Uh the club opened two official flagship standalone stores on the 12th of May at
13 minutes, 47 seconds
Canal Walk and uh on the 15th of May at the Mall of Africa. These mark the 24th
13 minutes, 57 seconds
and 25th official standalone stores operated by Liverpool FC globally, making them the only European football
14 minutes, 4 seconds
club to run dedicated physical retail sport spots in Africa.
14 minutes, 11 seconds
To celebrate the historic launch, the club ran a massive week of local supporter events between the 17th of May
14 minutes, 18 seconds
and 21st of May. South African-born Liverpool legend and former goalkeeper Bruce Kbalar who won six league titles
14 minutes, 26 seconds
and a European Cup with the Reds anchored the celebrations. He drew massive crowds to both the Canal Walk
14 minutes, 33 seconds
and Mall of Africa launch events, taking photos, signing gear, and even participating in [clears throat] a traditional local bri.
14 minutes, 41 seconds
Local fans were given a rare opportunity to see the actual UEFA Champions League trophy up close and take photos with it inside the new stores.
14 minutes, 51 seconds
And the club's official mascot, Mighty Red, made the trip down to engage with younger fans and families during the launch activations.
15 minutes, 2 seconds
The launch was timed to align with a major global milestone for the club, the official unveiling of the brand new 2026
15 minutes, 9 seconds
27 Adidas home kit and training wear collections. South African supporters were among the very first in the world
15 minutes, 16 seconds
to be able to physically purchase the new strip of the racks.
15 minutes, 22 seconds
Beyond the standard match jerseys, the stores stock a heavy variety of official merchandise, lifestyle apparel, retro
15 minutes, 30 seconds
leisure wear, and accessories tailored to the local market. Under the 5-year agreement with Old School, fans can also
15 minutes, 38 seconds
expect more shop inshop locations and a dedicated e-commerce rollout across South Africa later this year.
15 minutes, 48 seconds
So, um, if you're a Liverpool fan, I'm sure that you will take advantage of those two stores if you're in
15 minutes, 56 seconds
Johannesburg or Cape Town, or you'll just wait for the dedicated e-commerce store to roll out um later this year,

17 minutes, 27 seconds
Charge, Yo Bert Ru. If you would like to join the conversation, our supply line

is open. The number is 0727861548 or you can call in on 01854702
17 minutes, 45 seconds
or you can even DM us on.com that's ov zoom m.
17 minutes, 53 seconds
Y Ru is a co-founder and chairman of zero carbon charge charge.
18 minutes, 2 seconds
Charge is building a national network of offgrid ultra fast EV charging stations across South Africa.
18 minutes, 14 seconds
Powered entirely by renewable energy, these stations use solar powered micro
18 minutes, 21 seconds
grids to deliver reliable, scalable, and grid independent
18 minutes, 28 seconds
energy, helping accelerate the country's transition to electric mobility
18 minutes, 35 seconds
by decentralizing energy generation and reducing carbon emissions. The initiative supports a cleaner, more resilient transport and energy future.
18 minutes, 49 seconds
Good afternoon, Mr. Ru, and welcome to Level Up. Please could you tell our listeners a brief background about zero carbon charge?
19 minutes, 2 seconds
Charge is building South Africa's first national network of off-grid ultraast electric vehicle charging stations powered entirely by renewable energy.
19 minutes, 14 seconds
The company was founded to help accelerate South African's transision to an electric mobility while reducing
19 minutes, 22 seconds
dependence on imported fuel and constrained grid infrastructure. Our [snorts] charging stations use solar
19 minutes, 30 seconds
powered micro grids and battery storage to generate and store electricity on site which means they operate
19 minutes, 38 seconds
independently from the national grid and are unaffected by grid faults or load reduction. The broader vision is to
19 minutes, 46 seconds
create a cleaner, more resilient and more affordable transport future for South Africa by building the renewable
19 minutes, 53 seconds
energy infrastructure that will power the next generation of mobility.
19 minutes, 59 seconds
[snorts]
20 minutes
Where where are the zerocarbon charge sites located?
20 minutes, 7 seconds
Charge has already launched its pilot site at Vulma Stutton in Northwest Province which has achieved 99% uptime since opening in November 2024.
20 minutes, 19 seconds
We now officially launched the first two sites along the IN3 corridor between Johannesburg and Durban. The first is
20 minutes, 27 seconds
located at the rates interchange in the Free State and the second at the Kenzo Winterton interchange in the Quazulu
20 minutes, 34 seconds
Natal. These [snorts] are strategically positioned along one of South Africa's busiest transport and freight routes to
20 minutes, 41 seconds
support both passenger and commercial electric vehicles.
20 minutes, 46 seconds
How does the zerocarbon charge sites differ from other charging stations?
20 minutes, 54 seconds
What makes charge unique is that our stations are completely off-grid and powered by renewable energy. Unlike many
21 minutes, 2 seconds
traditional charging stations that rely on Eskim's coal heavy electricity supply, our sites generate clean energy
21 minutes, 10 seconds
on site using solar power and battery storage. The stations are also designed for scale and speed. Each [snorts] site
21 minutes, 17 seconds
can charge up to eight vehicles simultaneously in and include ultra fast 360 kW DC
21 minutes, 25 seconds
charging technology that can charge most EVs from roughly 20% to 80% in around 30 minutes depending on the vehicle's internal architecture.
21 minutes, 36 seconds
Whereas traditional public charging uh stations rely on on gridbased
21 minutes, 43 seconds
electricity and is of much lower capacity. Beyond the technology, we're also focused on customer experience. Our
21 minutes, 52 seconds
sites include complimentary Wi-Fi, clean restrooms, and partnership with local farm stores where travelers can stop, eat, relax while charging.
22 minutes, 4 seconds
What is the average charge for AC and DC charging at your stations?
22 minutes, 11 seconds
Pricing may vary slightly depending on charging sessions and vehicle type, but the broader point is that EV charging
22 minutes, 19 seconds
remains significantly more affordable over time compared to petrol or diesel cost, particularly as fuel continue to
22 minutes, 27 seconds
rise. Highspeed DC charging cost 9 ran 15 per kilowatt hour including that
22 minutes, 34 seconds
whereas AC charging is free until June 2027.
22 minutes, 38 seconds
AC charging is slower and is generally suited to plug-in hybrids or long stopovers.
22 minutes, 47 seconds
Are there any other sites in the pipeline?
22 minutes, 53 seconds
Absolutely. The N3 rollout is only the beginning. Following these launches, Charge will move into the next major
23 minutes, 1 second
rollout phase along the N1 corridor. The long-term plan is to roll out 60 charging stations across South Africa's
23 minutes, 9 seconds
national roads uh before expanding and densifying the network to a full national footprint of 120 sites spaced
23 minutes, 18 seconds
approximately 150 km apart. The goal is to create a truly national charging network that gives both consumers and
23 minutes, 26 seconds
fleet operators the confidence to transition to electric mobility.
23 minutes, 33 seconds
Where can people follow Zerocarbon Chargers journey?
23 minutes, 38 seconds
People can follow Charger's journey by visiting charge.co.z and through the company's social media
23 minutes, 45 seconds
platforms with a handle at zerocarbon charge. As the network expand, we will
23 minutes, 52 seconds
continue sharing progress around infrastructure rollout technology innovation and broadest shift towards
23 minutes, 59 seconds
cleaner and more resilient transport solutions in South Africa.
24 minutes, 4 seconds
Thank you Mr. Ru for joining us this afternoon. We hope you have a wonderful Sunday afternoon.
24 minutes, 14 seconds
Yes, thank you to Yobar for that insightful chat. I think it's a great initiative. Alhamdulillah. And I read
24 minutes, 21 seconds
that the global electric vehicle outlook 2026 revealed that nearly 30% of all new
24 minutes, 29 seconds
cars that are sold globally this year will be electric and some of it is due to the extreme oil prices of course. But
24 minutes, 39 seconds
we live in such a beautiful country mashallah where we have such lovely sunny weather. You know, the sun shines
24 minutes, 47 seconds
all year round and it is now winter and even though it may be cold outside and the sun is sh the the sun is still shining nicely and brightly.
24 minutes, 57 seconds
Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah.
24 minutes, 59 seconds
Yeah. So, we should really make use of that, you know. And then companies like uh Macro have already saved thousands of
25 minutes, 6 seconds
rands on electricity bills by converting their open air parking areas to shaded areas with solar panels. mounted on top
25 minutes, 16 seconds
and I've seen many other malls following suit.
25 minutes, 19 seconds
Yes, they have. Alhamdulillah. Um I think it's it's it's a new trend but a good trend. Um obviously solar is uh
25 minutes, 28 seconds
quite expensive. So the initial costs are are quite high but I think um going
25 minutes, 35 seconds
off the grid and just you know um saving electricity where we can is is a huge
25 minutes, 42 seconds
plus and corporates and big companies like you say like macro and now zero carbon charge coming up with these sites
25 minutes, 50 seconds
you know to to um you know help us to use renewable energy
25 minutes, 58 seconds
um something that's sustainable and I think it's it's it's a good thing especially with
26 minutes, 4 seconds
um you know the move towards the electric vehicles or the plug-in hybrid electric vehicles as well like you said
26 minutes, 13 seconds
what 30% um yes 30% um and we've seen it here in South Africa there's been a move um especially
26 minutes, 20 seconds
with these mild hybrids and plug-in hybrids where um people are now seeing that it's cost effective it's you're
26 minutes, 28 seconds
getting a longer range, you um you know, you have that option to switch between
26 minutes, 33 seconds
fuel and your uh motor or battery. And you know, the the with the rise in in
26 minutes, 43 seconds
fuel, we said it, you know, it's it's ridiculous. We need an alternative.
26 minutes, 48 seconds
And I I must say I like the fact that they've got the AC charging as free until uh 2027.
26 minutes, 56 seconds
June 2027. June 2027 and um also the fact that you know it's it's it's going
27 minutes, 3 seconds
to help the uh the plug-in hybrids to or rather encourage them to use that so
27 minutes, 11 seconds
people with EVs could use the faster DC charging you know um and then inshallah
27 minutes, 20 seconds
you know maybe we'll see some expansion um hopefully you know musala at the sites maybe some halal I'll eat these as well.
27 minutes, 29 seconds
Yes. Because people always ask us how long does it take to charge you when we go for these uh to check to to to test
27 minutes, 36 seconds
them and then they say how long does it take and then they they don't realize that they do stop. They stop to go to the bathroom to
27 minutes, 45 seconds
buy something to eat to fill up to to you know to walk about to uh have a break in their um traveling. It's
27 minutes, 52 seconds
something that is needed to do. So I mean uh if it's convenient for us as
27 minutes, 59 seconds
well you know like we are able to pray we able to eat because you know there'll be halal eeries then obviously it will
28 minutes, 6 seconds
be um convenient it will be something that we can do and you won't feel like you know that hour going by so slowly.
28 minutes, 16 seconds
Yeah. Well, you see the thing is um like they said they they want to at the moment they've they they've covered a
28 minutes, 24 seconds
certain distance on the on the N3 and they're going to start um you know shortening the distance to I think 150 km
28 minutes, 33 seconds
um per stop and then obviously roll it out nationwide and I mean it's basically
28 minutes, 40 seconds
like probably when they rolled out uh fuel stations initially I mean there was one Alter city in the middle of between
28 minutes, 49 seconds
Johannesburg and Durban and then you know slowly um the sha um the other
28 minutes, 56 seconds
brands Calteex and Engine and everyone followed suit. So it's it's a similar concept and I think it becomes more
29 minutes, 5 seconds
convenient for us who are traveling on the road quite often. Do you know how we always like to try and observe days and
29 minutes, 13 seconds
that serve as a reminder you know especially for our mental health? So today the 24th of May is World
29 minutes, 20 seconds
Schizophrenia Awareness Day. So it's um shining light on the fact that these
29 minutes, 28 seconds
disorders are more common than we think and should be understood inshallah.
29 minutes, 34 seconds
And then speaking more about you know observant days and reminders.
29 minutes, 39 seconds
It's still amongst the 10 days of alhamdulillah. Today being the sixth um I know I think we mentioned something
29 minutes, 48 seconds
about the seventh and the eth we must try and focus on making more duas for our children. The ninth day of day of
29 minutes, 57 seconds
you mentioned something about if it's nth of hij already there and maybe eighth year. So maybe we should try making more dua on the um or fasting on
30 minutes, 7 seconds
the 8th of and and 9. So ch was it Tuesday and Wednesday inshallah. Amen.
30 minutes, 13 seconds
And then of course Eid Eida will be on Thursday the 28th of May inshallah. Amen.
30 minutes, 21 seconds
So um oh yes. So the reason why I brought it up was we had some messages come in to say uh to send us more duas.
30 minutes, 30 seconds
Alhamdulillah. Please do keep them coming in. It's very nice. Um and we will go through them. Okay. So um one of
30 minutes, 38 seconds
the the messages that came in is to remember to read a dua for our parents.
30 minutes, 45 seconds
Um narrates that narrates from Sahallam that if a person's parents passed away
30 minutes, 55 seconds
or one of them passed away and he was disobedient to them then as long as he continues to make dua for their forgiveness and besides that he makes
31 minutes, 3 seconds
other duas for them he will be counted amongst the obedient children inshallah.
31 minutes, 8 seconds
Um, and then they sent us to
31 minutes, 22 seconds
For
31 minutes, 50 seconds
they didn't send the English meaning of that. But uh inshallah if you try to get that maybe um on our Soundcloud you can
31 minutes, 59 seconds
listen to it, pause and then recite it inshallah. Amen.
32 minutes, 4 seconds
Amen. Then there's another one. It says make dua for your children during these mubarat blessed days and let this
32 minutes, 11 seconds
message reach all parents so that they too will make dua for their children. Ya Allah, I call upon you by your name sad,
32 minutes, 19 seconds
your mighty and glorious name. Oh my Karim Rab, my benevolent sustainer, do me a special favor. An Aan, rectify all
32 minutes, 29 seconds
affairs related to my children. Ya Allah, grant baraka and afia in the their lives, in their health and wealth, and in their willing obedience to you.
32 minutes, 40 seconds
Ya Allah, convert their weakness and illness into strength and protect them from whispers. Grant them a complete
32 minutes, 48 seconds
safety and blessings in their bodies in their ears and eyes in each and every organ, limb and muscles. And with your
32 minutes, 56 seconds
mercy protect them from all calamities, sins, misguidance and errors. Oh Allah, make them obedient to you. Make them
33 minutes, 5 seconds
obedient to you. Make them obedient to you. Ya Allah, help me in raising them to be pious, respectful, and with good
33 minutes, 12 seconds
manners. Ya Allah, let them be a source of and goodness for me in both the worlds. Ya Allah, I hand over my child in your protection, your trust and ama.
33 minutes, 23 seconds
Protect them from every calamity, every evil disease. Ya Allah, protect them from front, from back, from right and
33 minutes, 31 seconds
from left, and from above and below. Ya Allah, put your love in the heart of my children and make my children obedient
33 minutes, 38 seconds
to you and your messenger sallall.aii wasallam. Ya Allah, put the love of my children in the hearts of your servants.
33 minutes, 47 seconds
Let their hearts be always in support of my children. Ya Allah, grant my children knowledge which benefits them in this
33 minutes, 54 seconds
dunya and a ya Allah, give my children success and a high in both the worlds.
34 minutes, 1 second
Ya Allah, enable them to be of the pious, most Allah conscious, most generous, most charitable, most
34 minutes, 8 seconds
respected, most knowledgeable, and most sincere advisers. Ya Allah, hold them amongst those who you love most. Guide
34 minutes, 16 seconds
them in every step of their lives to make decision and actions pleasing to you. Indeed, there is no better
34 minutes, 23 seconds
protector than you, no better guide than yourself.
34 minutes, 28 seconds
bestow the best of your mercy on our children and the future generations.
34 minutes, 38 seconds
[snorts]
34 minutes, 40 seconds
Ya Allah, I make this dua for my children and for the children of the persons who sent it to me and for the children of the persons who will read it in in future. Amen.
34 minutes, 51 seconds
Amen. Amen. Amen. For all those to us.
34 minutes, 54 seconds
And then someone also sent us um links to Hajj activities for children to do.
34 minutes, 59 seconds
So it's a collection of Hajj related activities, presentations and principles. Uh so things that you can print and it's mostly from a website called an nasi.com.
35 minutes, 11 seconds
So that's a nih.com.
35 minutes, 18 seconds
And then they have um a project called Hajj activities. Hajj a simple guide uh
35 minutes, 25 seconds
roleplay activity books day of Hajj card. So it's very interesting. Go have a look at it inshallah. Amen.
35 minutes, 33 seconds
Alhamdulillah for sending all the the dua in and also which website to go to for our our children to you know have
35 minutes, 41 seconds
some kind of um activity to do to help them to remind them and to make them feel a part of these blessed days.
35 minutes, 50 seconds
Alhamdulillah.
35 minutes, 51 seconds
Yeah. Alhamdulillah. you know, it's it's um especially for like Isa homeschooled
35 minutes, 58 seconds
um because normally at at a school and I know when he was at preschool then they had a Hajj day and you know they dressed
36 minutes, 6 seconds
up and then they would um do the rituals as well and you know like really get into
36 minutes, 14 seconds
it was during co I remember we had to so he did it [laughter] at home so he didn't really get get to do it again
36 minutes, 21 seconds
but he would have like the other people in his class um do it with him and because I remember I had to make out
36 minutes, 30 seconds
of a box um a replica of the garba and then he had
36 minutes, 37 seconds
to walk around it and um we also had to pack for him some snacks to travel to
36 minutes, 44 seconds
Malifa [laughter] and you know just to get them involved because we said also with regards to
36 minutes, 51 seconds
Hajj. It's usually the parents that that would go and the kids don't know what's happening or what their parents are
36 minutes, 59 seconds
doing. They see a bit of it now and again, but it's not really, you know, known to them what is actually happening. And it's good that there are
37 minutes, 8 seconds
schools or madressas that, you know, do do this type of thing. And I think that that that we should try you know like um
37 minutes, 17 seconds
during Ramadan people set up a little Ramadan corner and you know they they do certain things and I think for Hajj we
37 minutes, 25 seconds
should encourage our kids also to you know act out or do do certain activities
37 minutes, 33 seconds
[snorts] to help them to understand the the month. you know, it's it's good to talk about it. Um, for them to listen to
37 minutes, 42 seconds
stories, you know, like we spoke about last week as well about the different stories and to us, but it's also nice for them to also act out certain things.
37 minutes, 51 seconds
Um, so they get involved.
37 minutes, 53 seconds
That's very true. And a lot of them also learn by, you know, I think basically roleplaying.
38 minutes, 1 second
Yeah. So alhamdulillah someone else also sent something and they said and this is for those who have like who are running
38 minutes, 8 seconds
on empty right now you know you want to make the most of these 10 days but it's life life and you know like you're
38 minutes, 17 seconds
feeling guilty you're feeling guilty above doing everything that you need to do in the day and it's not mindless
38 minutes, 26 seconds
things it's things unfortunately that need to be done as parents as adults adult, you know, as mothers, as fathers,
38 minutes, 36 seconds
basically life happens. So, we do get those times when we running on empty, when we feel like um we have a heavy
38 minutes, 44 seconds
heart, when we feel like we we won't manage to fast and we feel like our ibad is not enough. You don't need a
38 minutes, 52 seconds
perfectly quiet room or prayer mat to remember Allah.
38 minutes, 57 seconds
you need to just um write down maybe write down subhan Allah, alhamdulillah.
39 minutes, 5 seconds
Keep them keep those reminders close to you and then every time you see those reminders just then make a point of
39 minutes, 14 seconds
reading it reading your read alhamdulillah and then continuously read until while you're doing something
39 minutes, 23 seconds
and then look at the other one continue continuously read a tired whisper from a heavy heart is incredibly
39 minutes, 32 seconds
beloved to Allah and then this is Another one that a lot of us feel um guilty for resting. But they said rest with near with intention.
39 minutes, 44 seconds
Transform your sleep into an act of worship. You know going to sleep with the intention of recovering your
39 minutes, 51 seconds
strength so you can fulfill your basic obligations is an act of worship. Alhamdulillah.
39 minutes, 57 seconds
Alhamdulillah. like maybe say this near say ya Allah I am resting this body because it belongs to you and I have to
40 minutes, 4 seconds
take care of it because we've learned that you know our body is in our mana we have to is a trust given to us from
40 minutes, 11 seconds
Allah and we have to take care of it so don't you think that resting is taking
40 minutes, 18 seconds
care of your body so make that near that you are resting your body so that you can continue fulfilling your obligations
40 minutes, 25 seconds
to your yourself to your family and most importantly to Allah. And then we know we're supposed to be fasting,
40 minutes, 33 seconds
you know, or we should try our best to fast. But then this is called the fasting of boundaries. You might not be
40 minutes, 40 seconds
able to fast from food, but you can fast from emotional drains. So things that
40 minutes, 48 seconds
obviously drain you emotionally, you can fast from um overcommitting. So that
40 minutes, 54 seconds
basically means you you can try and um stop yourself from overcommitting you
41 minutes, 1 second
know you can put that as a boundary for yourself. You are not going to overcommit too much. You're not going to
41 minutes, 8 seconds
do too much to things that overwhelm you. You can fast from people pleasing.
41 minutes, 15 seconds
So that that sounds very easy to do but I think to execute it for a lot of
41 minutes, 21 seconds
people is a bit difficult shame but try that you because fasting is abstaining from something for the pleasure of
41 minutes, 29 seconds
Allah. So why not abstain from these things that drain you and also not good
41 minutes, 37 seconds
for your soul and good for your body. So try and inshallah you know start stay away from that fast from the harsh
41 minutes, 45 seconds
critical voice in your own head. Again sounds very easy to do but it's like
41 minutes, 52 seconds
something that we need to make a commitment uh you know keep uh be obser observant and a aware about our emotions
42 minutes, 1 second
and how we are. So we need to you know remind oursel every time maybe we have a harsh critical voice in our own head we
42 minutes, 10 seconds
uh say you know and then try and defer from
42 minutes, 18 seconds
that try and you know I like to say um ya Allah um you are the most merciful
42 minutes, 25 seconds
the most kind. So if I try and think of Allah as being kind and merciful to me,
42 minutes, 33 seconds
you know, my creator, why cannot why can't I be kind to myself?
42 minutes, 39 seconds
And then remembering that setting a healthy boundary to protect our peace is a profound act of honoring our mana, our
42 minutes, 47 seconds
body. And um then the last one is a broken dua. Now this is not obviously a
42 minutes, 54 seconds
broken dua. This is like basically not waiting for the perfect words to say in
43 minutes
a dua. Your heart is already heavy. You you tired. Um they they sent this and
43 minutes, 7 seconds
they said simply say, "Ya Allah, I am so tired. Please help me carry this." So you're basically putting it and it
43 minutes, 15 seconds
should be in Allah's hands. It should be left in our creator's hands. He created us and he knows what we are going
43 minutes, 23 seconds
through. So, we're simply saying, you know what? I realize that I am not in control. I'm leaving it all in your
43 minutes, 31 seconds
hands. I can do it. It doesn't mean now you do nothing. I can do what I can, but I know it's all up to you. Inshallah.
43 minutes, 39 seconds
Amen. Amen.
43 minutes, 43 seconds
Yes. So with that uh you know Allah knows how heavy it is. Allah may Allah subhana wa t'ala aid us all, help us all
43 minutes, 51 seconds
and give us strength for the worship of these wonderful 10 days of but also remember don't just leave it for you
43 minutes, 58 seconds
know like certain days you know Ramadan 10 days of 10 days of this you know for every day inshallah may Allah help us
44 minutes, 7 seconds
and guide us always amen amen so let's also increase our takir this week and remember it is waj to
44 minutes, 14 seconds

44 minutes, 41 seconds
may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accept all our fast duas ibada and good deeds and make us among among those who will
44 minutes, 48 seconds
witness Hajj and Umrah at least once in our lifetime. Amen.
