Hosted within the refurbished Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit’s secondary pitlane area, visitors to the 2022 Festival of Motoring’s Yellow Zone have an opportunity to not only ride “shotgun” alongside some of the finest drift drivers in the country but – in a somewhat more surefooted environment – also get behind the wheel of a potential new purchase.

Why not use the opportunity to experience first-hand some of the latest cars available on the South African market, from future-focused all-electric, hybrid models and naturally aspirated vehicles from the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Abarth, Peugeot, Porsche, Citroën, Opel, Baic, Toyota, Jeep, Volvo Cars, Chery and Suzuki Auto.

No driver’s license or, indeed, not yet able to reach the pedals? Why not book a slot on the Parolin Karting track? Who knows, if you’re quick enough behind the wheel of a kart perhaps it won’t be long before you too can line up for the Festival’s new time-attack speed challenge. Starting from opposite the Yellow Zone, this pseudo-hill-climb event will see some of the fastest drivers in the land racing against the clock through eight of Kyalami’s most iconic corners for the honor of being crowned inaugural champion in one of the challenge’s three dedicated categories. Don’t tell anyone, but there’s talk that Porsche South Africa is particularly keen to set a benchmark time…
Hold on tight because, not to be outdone, Toyota South Africa will demonstrate its wares via its legendary Urban Trax experience.

While a dedicated Lifestyle Area will include displays from the likes of Castrol, Dunlop, SBK Eyewear, Bourbon Eyewear, and Hot Wheels, motorcycle fans can look forward to interactions with both Suzuki Motorcycles and Harley-Davidson; this before the action of competitors preparing for a national round of the Sunbet ZX10 Masters series.
