The Jeep® brand announced the sale of the five millionth Jeep Wrangler, which was bought by a customer in Camden, New Jersey.

The owner will receive $5,000 worth of Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) by Mopar and lifetime Jeep Wave customer care benefits which includes the scheduled maintenance, access to exclusive Jeep events and dedicated customer care.

The very first Jeep Wrangler, with the model code YJ, entered into production line 37 years ago at the American Motors Corporation factory. The YJ went on to sell 630,000 units between 1987 and 1995.

It was followed by the TJ in 1996, the JK in 2006 and the JL in 2017; each new generation building on a legendary history through an unmatched combination of off-road capability and legitimate Jeep design.

Since the Wrangler YJ’s introduction each subsequent iteration of the Wrangler has been designed to be even more refined and comfortable for daily use, while providing customers with the world’s most off-road capable and most iconic SUV.

The legendary vehicle has won the hearts of Europeans also thanks to its countless special series that have followed one another over the years. These includes the “10th Anniversary”, the “Golden Eagle” and the “Backcountry” to mention some of the most popular. The same year, the production of the fourth Generation of the model (code JL) starts, a project developed five years earlier under the umbrella of the new-born Fiat Chrysler Automobile. Then, in 2021, the Wrangler 4xe Plug-in Hybrid makes its debut in Europe – the most performing, powerful, efficient, sustainable, technically advanced and connected Wrangler ever introduced on the European market – which is honoured with prestigious continental awards, including “4x4 of the ‘year 2022” assigned by the authoritative French magazine “4x4 Magazine”.

The electrified Wrangler 4xe, is the most capable ever with best-in-class performance thanks to the combination of a powerful front combustion engine and surprising rear electric propulsion that delivers the torque on demand. It uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, granting a total output of 380hp power and 637Nm of torque, an 8-speed automatic transmission, two electric motors and a high-voltage battery pack, delivering up to 53 km of all-electric range in urban areas and 3,5 l/100 km of fuel consumption.
