the chief engineer and he coined this little what seems to be a generic term

smart and cool SUV but it actually sums up the vehicle quite nicely or the Suzuki Aross quite nicely because if we

it is smart. So, we have new technology.

We have a hybrid powertrain. It's the first Suzuki model across the range to have this mild hybrid uh powertrain from the entry level to the top of the range.

And it also adds new features, features that we haven't seen in Suzuki products.

Um it's features like the DSBS2, which stands for deal sensor brake support system, the level two ADA system. Um,

makes it a smart and cool SUV. Now looking at and cool is the design and styling. You can see it's like no other

Suzuki that we've had. If you look at the steering wheel, if you look at the interior design, that's a new generation design that's coming through. So that's

why it's smart um and stylish and other elements like the ambient lighting inside the vehicle. That's not features that we haven't had or that's features

that we haven't had in previous um generation models. And then we get to SUV. We all know what SUV stands for.

Okay. Suzuki utility vehicles.

Well, the reason is because Suzuki actually pioneered the compact SUV way back in 1988 with the launch of the

Suzuki Vara. Now, back then SUVs were big and heavy and um yeah, used a lot of fuel. Now with the Vara being that

pioneer of that compact SUV segment quite a number of years back um this is a Suzuki SUV and the reason why I say

Suzuki SUV is because we all know that the SUV segment is fast growing. It has been growing for a number of years and

it has no um signs of slowing down. So this obviously is a very important segment for buyers out there. And what's

great is that this is a Suzuki. So, it's a vehicle that is supported by a brand that's well known for reliability, efficiency,

and all the other elements that make Suzuki a great product. And I think therein lies a good standout point for this in the SUV segment to provide that

value to customers where they have the after sales, the brand support and the recognition over the years of experience of building compact SUVs. Now, let's

start with the first point which is the powertrain. So the powertrain is the K15C um powertrain. Now the K series engine

and specifically the K15 series engine is the most popular ICE engine in South

Africa passenger segment with 18% market share um in 2025. That's just over

60,000 units sold in 2025 utilizing this K15 engine. So it's the most popular petrol engine in South

Africa in the passenger segment and that has to stand for something. Now what's great about the K15C? It adds an integrated start generator motor coupled

with um a 12vt lithium ion battery. It develops 76 kW and 137 new m of torque

and um it gives it class leading fuel efficiency. So, 5.3 L per 100 with that

mild hybrid powertrain. Um, and that's also thanks to technologies such as the auto engine stop start. Um, you get two transmission options. In the GL model,

you get the 5-speed manual or the six-speed automatic. So, it's a six-speed torque converter automatic.

And then in the GLX model is equipped also with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Now looking at the design and style, we can see that it is a bold and strong SUV um vehicle. It's got really strong

character lines. It's got great aerodynamic profile as well. And in the front, you'll see there's a hair dam that actually channels air through to

the um front or under the front fender to the front wheels as well. Um you can see distinct features like LED lighting

all around. So, the front has LED daytime running lights. The rear has LED tail lamps. You have LED front fog lamps

and LED almost everything when it comes to lighting in the car as well. Um, you have functional roof rails in both the GL and the GLX model. Obviously,

denoting to the um SUV lifestyle and uh the practical accessories that you can add. It's slightly bigger than the Grand

Vara. It has the same wheelbase at 2.6 6 m and has a ground clearance of 210 mm.

Stepping inside, you can see that new generation um steering wheel, that new generation interior design. With that is the introduction of the 10.1 in

infotainment system also with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto um and all those features. But then also a new one

is the 10.25 25 in instrument uh display which is fully customizable um and also has a range of different features like

models, whether it's the GL auto or the GLX auto, you also have your electronic parking brake for the automatic models.

with that kick switch um as standard on the GL and the GLX model. Quite a cool feature, quite practical when you

realize, okay, why would I ever want that? But until you use it for the first time, you're like, okay, this is actually quite quite convenient. And

then I think the the big one for us with regards to safety again is in addition to all the other features that we've mentioned is the advanced driver

assistance. So this has DSPS2 or what we call the dual sensor brake support.

What's important is the fact that it has the autonomous emergency braking and that's a very important part because that's what makes it a level two ADAS

system. So you can set the automatic cruise or yeah the auto cruise control or adaptive cruise control to the

vehicle's speed what you want say 100 km/h and will follow the vehicle in front of you all the way to stand still and if it's if you stop the engine will

turn off as the vehicle pulls off it will start up again and will follow that vehicle that way. Also it has steering assist as well. you have to keep your

hands on the steering wheel for a number of seconds as well, but it does have that steering assist as part of it. And I mean the feature list is quite

comprehensive. So you have your auto um emergency braking. You have your lane keep assist um which is now showcased there. You

have your lane departure prevention where the vehicle will actually direct itself as well. You also have adaptive cruise control as I mentioned and you have your um rear cross traffic alerts.

So, when you're backing out of a parking space, you also have blind spot monitoring. And you have your high beam assist. When obviously with the auto headlamps, when you're driving at night,

it automatically engage the high beam.

If the vehicle approaches from the front, it will dim the high beam automatically as well. So, really cool feature to have on this vehicle on the on the flagship for us in the GLX range.

It's quite intuitive. You don't have to go into a submen to switch it off. There are hard buttons to do that if you want to test the different systems. And on
