After meeting the woman of his dreams, singer-songwriter – Christiaan Baartman – was inspired to write a brand-new song about how beautiful and joyous love can be.

LIEWE LAWWE LETTIE is about a man who meets his soulmate, Lettie, and how his life is just better with her in it,”

he says about this pop-folk track which he also produced himself (with the help of Sean Manley).

“I have also met a wonderful lady a while ago, who makes my life so much better and that is what inspired the song. A man is simply better with a woman by his side.”

According to the musician, his new single is very well received during his live performances, and he believes that the message and melody will resonate with audiences of all ages.

The music video is also very unique and mainly consists of photos. While watching the video, you literally feel like you are flipping through Lettie’s scrapbook, filled with special romantic memories.

Jannes de Villiers from Moving North Media captured this special concept on camera, while Leon Gropp acted as director and editor, and Natassja Ras (winner of Houvrou of Trouvrou on VIA) played the role of Lettie.

“We did a stop motion video with a bunch of photos and animation in the background. The final product is unlike anything I have ever seen before,”

 he explains.

“A lot of time, effort and planning went into it, and it’s something you have to watch to understand what it’s all about.”

The video will be available soon.

LIEWE LAWWE LETTIE is the singer’s fifteenth release in four years and follows in the footsteps of chart toppers like As Hy Vir Jou Nog Lief Was, Net ’n Bietjie, Stof, ’n Vriend Soos Jy (a duet with Mack Rapapali), My Vrou and Die Beste Deel.

Christiaan has been involved in the music industry for around two decades and released his first album in 2008 at the age of nineteen.

Over the years, he has had many highlights in his career, including winning several music awards; producing a children’s album with Leon Jonkman; progressing to the final rounds of Idols SA in 2006; opening for Smokie in 2012; performing at Huisgenoot Skouspel in 2007 and more.

He is also currently working on completing his studies. He still has big plans for the future that include three more singles and two music videos for 2023.

“I have so many shows scheduled for this year that I don’t have time for anything else. 2023 is going to be lots of fun and I want to make the best of each opportunity that comes my way,”

 he says.

LIEWE LAWWE LETTIE is a light-hearted song that will make you smile and believe in the magic of true love.

“I like to write about my experiences and have seen many men change for the better after getting married. There is something to be said about two people becoming one. As men, we have the tendency of losing ourselves when we’re single, and having someone special in our lives gives us the balance we need,”

 he concludes.

The single is now available on all digital platforms.
