Neil Sandilands is currently the talk of the town. Sweet Tooth season 2, in which he portrays the formidable General Douglas Abbott, has received international acclaim. Add to that his critically acclaimed new album “Allegaarkie vir ’n Askeet” and the highly successful “Somertoer: Woorde & Akkoorde na die Noorde” of February 2023, and you have the perfect recipe for delight and amazement.
Sandilands is venturing north again, more specifically, northeast from the Overstrand to Mpumalanga. He is taking his band of talented string-slinger-maestros on the road for a captivating and memorable journey.
Joining him on stage are Schalk Joubert on bass, as usual, Frank Freeman on electric guitars, and the mesmerizing international percussionist Ronan Skillen.
The show features music from all of Sandilands’ albums, including “Sangoma Sandilands & Jou Pa se Posse”, “DieGrootNiks”, “DieGroot5”, as well as the mind-bending tracks from “Allegaarkie vir’n Askeet”. Accompanied by stories and anecdotes from his childhood in Randfontein to Sunset Boulevard, the island of Kauai, New York, Auckland, and yes, Namakwaland.
