Jaguar TCS Racing is now seventh in the Team’s World Championship standings after Round 12 of Formula E Season 11 in Indonesia

Jaguar TCS Racing secured a top-five finish in Indonesia, with Nick Cassidy finishing Round 12 of the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in fifth place.

The Jaguar TCS Racing #37 was unfortunate not to finish higher up the order in the Jakarta E-Prix, with safety car and full course yellow periods during both Attack Mode deployments restricting the Kiwi’s progress up the order. Nevertheless, P5 ensures Cassidy’s consistent form continues with his fourth point-scoring finish in the previous five races.

Mitch Evans finished outside of the points in P12, nursing heavy damage to the rear end of his Jaguar I-TYPE 7 for much of the race after an error under braking by DS Penske’s Jean-Éric Vergne in the opening stages, for which Vergne received a time-penalty.

James Barclay, Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal:

“Some valuable points secured with that top-five finish after a challenging race in Indonesia. We honestly leave frustrated, though, because Nick did a fantastic job today and his race was significantly impacted by the timing of the safety car and full course yellow periods. He was racing Ticktum and Mortara and was up on energy, so we felt we had a chance to fight for the podium or more. Nick was brilliant and we will look at what we could have done better, as we always do, but put simply we were also victims of the interventions."

“Mitch was once again the unfortunate recipient of contact, from Vergne this time, in the opening laps which damaged his car and impacted his pace throughout the rest of the race. Vergne made a mistake and it cost us dearly with damage to Mitch’s car. Damaged bodywork rubbing on the tyre also pushed his tyre temperature through the roof and cost us balance and efficiency. He remained in contention for points despite the difficulties he was having behind the wheel, and it is a shame his efforts were not rewarded with a top 10 finish. The positive though, is that we put ourselves into a possible podium position once again and we had pace against the factory Nissan and Porsche teams, especially in qualifying. We are making gains, and our full focus is now on the remaining four races in Berlin and London, and to end the season strongly.”

Jaguar TCS Racing driver Mitch Evans, #9:

“Jakarta was hard, it was a tricky race and we were unfortunate to finish just outside the points. The early contact with Vergne really impacted my race, and my final Attack Mode deployment was compromised with a full course yellow period. We’ll fight hard to bounce back in Berlin.”

Jaguar TCS Racing driver Nick Cassidy, #37:

It's good to come away from Jakarta with a fifth-place finish, even though we were not able to show our full potential out on track due to factors outside of our control. The timing of the safety car and full course yellow whilst I was in Attack Mode meant I couldn’t climb the order, but nevertheless we scored some strong points.”
