There is something oddly magical about April Fool's Day.

That one day a year, when the unexpected becomes expected, and even the most serious among us double-check what they read to see if it is actually true.

From harmless pranks to elaborate online hoaxes, this day has a way of reminding us just how easily we can believe what we see and hear.

One minute you're reading about a new model of a car being launched, and the next - surprise! You've been Fooled!

But beyond the jokes and laughter, April Fools' Day carries a subtle lesson:

Pause. Question. Think Twice.

In a world where information travels faster than ever, not everything is as it seems, and today is the (albeit not so) perfect reminder of that.

Many may argue that there is the joy in being fooled, the shared laughter and the playful creativity, as well as the fact that it is less about tricking people and more about connecting through humour.

Reading something online today, also makes us question each and every statement put out there -

Is this certain Group really expanding their stores ?

Are we really getting 5x more Loyalty Points from a certain retailer today ?

"Don't get fooled" might sound like simple advice, but it's practically a survival strategy.

Keep your guard up (not too high), question what you read, but don't miss the fun.

Just remember: if something sounds too good, too shocking, or too bizarre to be true today... it probably is.
