The critically acclaimed local hit, Come Dine With Me South Africa brand-new season is in full swing.

Look out for a new episode on Wednesday 16th November, 8 PM, BBC Lifestyle (DStv channel 174).

It’s week six and we’re in Cape Town’s Northern Suburbs with another four bold and brilliant personalities – Full-of-friends Richard who doesn’t mind a bit of controversy, Potato-obsessed roller-girl Sarah, the ever classy Ntombi and theatre trained, fine-dining foodie Nina.

Episodes overview :

Night one kicks off at Richard’s charming Woodstock abode, where he gets through a difficult day with quite a bit of help from some friends but his guests catch him in the act. After a bumpy three course meal of Ceviche, Lamb Ragu Gnocchi and Salted Pecan Tart, it’s all fun and games with Nina sharing her knife skills, Richard spreading some love, Sarah’s unbelievable truth and Ntombi’s high flying moves.

On night two everyone is at Ntombi’s where she promises a classy affair. Though the energy was enjoyed, the food was not. Although Ntombi’s starter received high praise, her main of honey glazed chicken was equated to a weeknight family meal and her runny crème brulee didn’t quite hit the sweet spot.

Night three is hosted by Nina who’s been preparing for this moment for years! She follows her plan down to the T and it pays off with full bellies and smiling faces. Nina’s whipped feta, beetroot and walnut starter is presentation perfection and her Ruby chicken curry main, a treat for the tastebuds. Finally her expertly made chocolate fondant dessert seals her evening off on a high. With the food a happy place, they find something else to pick at, each other’s love lives…

The final night is at Sarah’s, where the potato is king and broken slow-cookers not a thing. Sarah subs in trout for Salmon in her Seafood trio starter but nobody notices, leaving her full of confidence as she moves on to the main. The main is a fail and to make things even more precarious, Sarah has decided to serve a charcuterie board to her sugar loving guests for dessert. Before it’s all over Richard ensures all hard truths, making no mistakes about who he will or will not contact once the night is done.
