Congratulations to:

  • Reabetswe Molapo of Think Africa, a millennial problem-solving platform where South African youth develop tech-based solutions for Africa.
  • Zandile Mkwanazi of GirlCode, an NPO that empowers women through technology.
  • Puno Selesho, who has played a significant role in supporting other social enterprises and will be using the learnings from the programme to formalise her own social enterprise

The Software AG Social Innovation Start-up Programme is an initiative aimed at providing assistance to tech-enabled start-ups to solve their biggest social challenges, including the providing of networks, best practices and capital to scale in the industry.

The programme includes a year’s enrolment at the Gordon Institute of Business Science’s Social Entrepreneurship programme, further enrolment in Software AG’s Enterprise Development programme in 2021, and seed funding for the enterprises of the respective finalists.

Molapo says being selected as a Fix Scholar will allow herself, as a young South African woman, to be a catalyst for change and facilitate her being able to take part in the digitisation of the country’s socio-economy.

Mkwanazi says she is deeply grateful and excited to have been chosen as one of the Fix Scholars.

“I believe that this opportunity will allow me to learn, network and grow both professionally and personally and, more importantly, to create a sustainable social enterprise delivering value and more opportunities to the young girls and women we serve at GirlCode."

Selesho is equally excited.

“Being chosen as a Fix Scholar feels like a dream come true and I look forward to gathering the tools that will enable me to be a social entrepreneur,”

she says.

Fix Moeti, CEO and Founder of the Fix Scholarship says she is thrilled that three highly deserving social entrepreneurs will have something to look forward to once the country emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I would also like to extend my thanks to everyone who entered, as well as to Software AG and our other partners in making the dream of education a reality for women entrepreneurs in Africa.”
