Fun for all at the Arnold Classic Beach Tennis tournament
KIA Motors South Africa, in partnership with Tennis South Africa, staged yet another fun beach tennis tournament at the 2019 Arnold Classic, which concluded on a custom-built beach tennis court in Alice Lane, Sandton, this past Sunday.
With several of KIA’s latest models on display, and a visit from Arnold Schwarzenegger, the event not only included the best of South Africa’s beach tennis players, but also included several international players and a series of coaching clinics for aspiring players.
In the end, it was the Portuguese duo of Henrique Freitas and Pedro Maio who won the men’s double finals after they rallied from dropping a set to win the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 against Ilias Sakkasand and Victor Sianga. In the women’s finals it was Russia’s Manuela Cunha and her Portuguese partner, Liudmila Nikoyan, who reigned supreme, displaying a dominant performance winning the tie in straight sets of 6-1 6-1.
