Game’s top toys for the festive season
Children’s preferences have changed over the years to more digital play, rather than outdoor and interactive games - where no toys were required (hide and seek, hopscotch and riding a bike). Despite this, toys such as building blocks, dolls and Disney remain popular options with today's children. This is according to the findings of a consumer survey carried out by Game earlier in the year.
Today digital devices are more popular than ever and most children are either playing with them or own them versus years ago when kids used to spend most of their time outside. Further, the past 18 months children and their parents have been mostly stuck inside, with little to no outside play. This has not been ideal as spending time outside, taking part in creative play and especially off of digital devices are all very important for childhood development and to reach those development milestones.
Game wants to help parents create opportunities for their kids to enjoy imaginative and outside play and made sure that this year’s top toys available in store are inspired by instilling more creativity within play as well as ignite a passion for playing outside.
