Search For The Stars is back! uShaka Marine World is looking for KwaZulu-Natal’s new and emerging talents to add to the entertainment line-up offered around the park.

Announcing the 2017 auditions for the “uShaka Search For The Stars” competition in partnership with the Department of Arts and Culture which is open to both amateurs and professionals.

uShaka Search For The Stars boasts a number of categories that need to be filled with deserving talent. If you are a dance group, the judges are looking for a minimum of 3 dancers specialising in one or more of the various dance styles, from Pantsula, Contemporary, Local, International, Indian, Tswana, Tin dancers, Football dancers, Hip hop dancers, Isigekle, Kwaito dancers, Ingoma yamantombazane, uShameni and Gumboot; so start practicing your routines for a quality performance on the day of the auditions. Acapella singers, Wedding singers, Hip Hop singers, Kwaito singers and Afro Gospel singers are also encouraged to enter (4 group members or more), as well as professional bands.

Making the event even more exciting, is that our judges will also be searching for those with a speciality act, such as Mime artists, Circus performers, Buskers, Magicians and the likes.

So if you think you have what it takes, you are invited to audition across the province on the below mentioned dates:

 

  • Sunday, 17th September 2017 – Winston Churchill in Pietermaritzburg (Southern Region) 
  • Saturday, 23rd September & Sunday, 24th September 2017 – Durban (Eastern Region) - uShaka Marine World

 

If you are successful at the auditions and are selected to go to the finals on Saturday, October 7th, 2017 at uShaka Marine World, you will be competing with other district finalists for a one year contract to perform at uShaka Marine World.

 

“uShaka has seen more than 15 000 talented performers auditioning over the past ten years and we have created jobs for over 4 000 artists. We look forward to seeing more talented performers share their magic with our guests,” says CEO Stella Khumalo.
