The focus of this category is to showcase organisations, businesses or initiatives that work to instill national pride in South Africans by portraying a positive image of the country both locally and globally.

iloveza.com is the epitome of Nation Pride, as their name alone instills love in people's hearts for South Africa.

The Digital Media, Marketing, and Advertising company, iloveza.com, is a platform created by husband and wife team, Nabihah and Ziyaad Plaatjes to assist SMMEs across South Africa to reach a wider audience globally through their innovative initiatives.

From changing the media narrative by sharing positive, uplifting stories on their website and social media, to curating local products to sell on their online store which are delivered worldwide, this is just a snapshot of what the two have accomplished over the 6 years in which the business has been running.

Co-Founder Ziyaad Plaatjes says:

"Every time we meet someone or interview them, we try and instill a love for our nation with them. We video record these individuals (which we share on our website and social media) introducing themselves, promoting their brand or business and ending off the video clip with a simple 'I Love ZA'."

In addition to the After Fajr Grind Awards which they held last year to assist SMMEs with Digital Advertising and Marketing during lockdown, the hashtag iloveza with the red heart and South African flag was also introduced by iloveza.com to share the love for their country which many are using today to show national pride.

Both founders have been recognised for their hard-work and dedication in building a brighter future for the youth in South Africa. In 2017 Nabihah received the Play Your Part Award from Owami Women and Brand South Africa for the work she was doing in women upliftment,  empowerment, and leadership. Early this year Ziyaad was named the Mail & Guardian's Top 200 Young South Africans in the Arts, Entertainment, Film & Media Category.

"Nabihah and I do what we do because we are passionate about our country, helping others, and we want to make a difference for the present and future of South Africa"

continues Ziyaad.

The Nation Pride Play Your Part Award Category submissions opened in September 2021 and out of nearly 500 entries, iloveza.com was unanimously declared the winner by the awards' judges.

Play Your Part Awards judge Paul Modjadji remarked that,

"The work done by iloveza is impactful, necessary and innovative, contributing to creating an economy that is conducive to combatting our widening unemployment rate."

Both Nabihah and Ziyaad were ecstatic with the win and said:

"All Praise to The Almighty, Thank you to Brand South Africa and the Play Your Part Awards for recognising the work which we are doing at iloveza.com to uplift the youth, empower women, and assist SMMEs in South Africa. We at iloveza.com are truly humbled by receiving the Nation Pride Play Your Part Award. It is wonderful initiatives like these which give us the strength to carry on, knowing that we are making a difference in building our nation together."

On their plans for the R5000 prize money for the Nation Pride Category Award, they said:

"We have been needing to employ more people to assist us in our operations, as well as upgrade the equipment that we are currently using, so the prize money will definitely assist us in getting closer to these goals which will help us to grow iloveza.com in order to fulfil our vision of eradicating unemployment and creating sustainable employment in South Africa, GOD Willing."
