M-Khana launched
MasterDrive launched their unique advanced driver training course, M-Khana this weekend. The course teaches skid avoidance and skid control techniques in a specialised gymkhana course to illustrate what going into a skid feels like and what course of action is best when it happens.
The managing director of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says the team enjoyed the opportunity to successfully launch the M-Khana training to a select group of guests. “The experience provides drivers with an opportunity to enjoy themselves on a skidpad while learning critical driving skills.
“Drivers can experience driving on slippery roads and what it feels like to lose control. This creates a chance to remove some of the shock and surprise should you ever experience it on the road. While one can never be fully prepared to lose control (otherwise we would prevent it from happening all together) it helps to experience it in a controlled and safe environment.”
Along with the chance to learn about vehicle control in a skid first-hand, there is also an element of enjoyment. “Testing a vehicle in that way is not something that many would normally have the opportunity to do. Often, skidpad experiences like the one specially designed by MasterDrive, are not available to the public for an affordable fee.
“The M-Khana course allows drivers to enjoy their vehicles, or a sports car provided by MasterDrive, with an experienced trainer by their side. One can enjoy the full potential of a vehicle with the confidence of a professional next to them to create an unforgettable and thrilling experience.”
Both individuals and corporates can enjoy the M-Khana course on selected Saturdays starting in January 2021. There is also team building and exercises for events available.
The launch was a great success that promises great things to come. “We look forward to this new training experience that all drivers can enjoy. With an experience that offers equal opportunities for learning and enjoyment, there is much to look forward to in 2021,” says Herbert.
MasterDrive’s M-Khana experience will take place at their new facilities across the road from the Ticketpro Dome. Email info@masterdrive.co.za, with M-Khana in the subject line, to find out more.

Why a skidpad not skidpan?
The skidpad is an eco-friendly alternative to the skidpan. No water is required as MasterDrive has invested in specialised synthetic tyres that cause a vehicle to skid without water. The recent extended period of below-average rainfall is necessitating more conscientious use of water.
