May of 2024 marks MasterDrive’s 25th year in business. This is a proud achievement for the MasterDrive team. It created the opportunity to help individuals become the best drivers possible, and organisations to prioritise employees’ safety and play their role in creating safer roads through opportunities to spread awareness of road safety and empower others to do the same.

A 25th anniversary is testament to the resilience, trustworthiness, and reliability of MasterDrive. The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says: “It was a pleasure working with every client over the last 25 years and we know the next 125 years will be just as successful. Our confidence in the strength of MasterDrive gives us confidence that this future is certain.

“Each year we build on the strengths of the previous years while always finding better ways to serve clients’ training requirements. One of our greatest prides is in our ability to be both a constant presence in road safety while also having the dynamism to adapt to changing business environments and means of promoting road safety.”

Over the last 25 years, MasterDrive established itself as a leader in driver training and road safety. “One of our first innovations was developing the Rollover Prevention Truck. Drivers feel what it is like when a truck overturns without going all the way over – and without the expense, harm or damage.

“Since its introduction, the concept was further built on and expanded to various other vehicles including a medium commercial vehicle and motorcycle. MasterDrive is the only provider of this training in Africa.”

Eight years ago, MasterDrive hosted their first road safety awareness event. “The 2017 Women with Drive event was our first such event which has since grown phenomenally and kickstarted various other events including the Colloquiums that connected the community during the pandemic, featured prominently at partner events and introducing the ‘Influence’ event during Transport Month in 2021.

“A major development in this space happened three years ago with the start of the Fleet Safety Awards. It aims to promote road safety by rewarding organisations and individuals that achieved success in their road safety policies and in creating well-equipped, competent and supported fleets. This too is a first-of-its-kind in Africa.”

In 2021, MasterDrive introduced the Hi-Performance Track Experience to further meet client needs. “With a fleet of Hi-Performance cars, drivers can take their skills to an even higher level by feeling for themselves how performance vehicles test one’s skills on the track.

“In honour of our 25th anniversary, we are giving away R25 000 away in cash and other prizes. MasterDrive will soon be sharing what we have in store and how you can win your share and become part of the celebration!”

MasterDrive is proud to celebrate its 25th anniversary this year. “We look forward to what the future holds: the developments to come, changes to road safety through on-going commitment and, most importantly, continued work with your organisation to reach its goals,” says Herbert.
