Reach a wider audience with Automatic Translations from Meta AI
With AI becoming the norm, there is no need to learn a new language
Meta AI have been adding new features which have not been widely publicised, but if you create a lot of content like we do, we are always playing around with the settings.
One of their newer features that we tested recently is the Translate Reel option.
The settings can be automatically turned on, and currently has up to 9 languages that you can choose from.
We uploaded our usual Level Up Intro video - our weekly programme on Radio Islam International, and we decided to turn on the Translate Reel feature.
The original feature was to Enable Closed Captions to your reel. This was to show auto-generated captions if viewers turned it on while watching your reel.
The next feature that was added was to Translate Closed Captions. Which meant that closed Captions would be automatically translated to the viewer's language.
Finally, and this is where it gets interesting, the latest addition to the Accessibility and Translation settings menu is the Translate Reel feature.
You can also modify it by:
- using Add Lip-Syncing which syncs your lips to match the translated audio
- choosing from 9 different languages (more languages to come)
- approving translations with a preview before they are shared - a notification will be sent to you when the reel is ready to preview
