Simply Asia’s Ultimate Wok Star Announced
Two months, four suburbs, seven celebrities and some heated contesting concluded on a high note at the final celebrity cook off in search of Simply Asia’s Ultimate Wok Star.
The finals as hosted by the Thai restaurant’s Fourways store on Saturday 8 April saw comedian Chris Forrest, turntable extraordinaire DJ Soosh and Rhythm City star Buhle Moletsane battle it out behind three flaming woks for the sought after title.
The anticipation was almost tangible as the judging panel tasted the signature Simply Asia dishes but in the end only one celebrity cook could take the title.
The way to a judges’ heart is through their stomach and after a blind tasting, Buhle Moletsane came out on top and was declared the winner.
“I never dreamt that the title would be mine, my competitors are amazing in the kitchen and I admit to being slightly intimated,” she said.
She attributed her victory to her love for Thai food and specifically noodles.
Buhle wins a Thai banquet, cooked by a Thai chef, for her and seven friends in the comfort of her own home, compliments of Simply Asia.
