STREET ART TAKES FIRST THURSDAY
BAZ-ART, the organisers of the International Public Art Festival [IPAF] which is to take place in Salt River from the 9-17th February 2019 has set out to bring art to the streets for the upcoming First Thursday, on the 7th February.
The organisation will be creating a live mural at the Association for Visual Arts on 35 Church Street, Cape Town City Centre in partnership with AVA.
The mural serves to promote the upcoming festival as well as inspire thought among fine art lovers to explore art in public spaces.
Alongside the mural, BAZ-ART will co-host a street art inspired exhibition at the Alliance Francaise on155 Loop St, Cape Town City Centre. The exhibition will showcase the works of four street artists, Cheeky Observer, Ruth Francis, Urban Khoi, Raphael Federici.
The prime intention of the organisation is to redefine the notion of street art and provide street artists with the type of exposure that could truly open doors.
