“Land & Sand” Tour
The EMMY-nominated actor and SAMA-nominated musician, Neil Sandilands, confirmed in April that he and his band (Schalk Joubert, Frank Freeman & Ronan Skillen) will once again embark on a nationwide tour in the winter of 2024.
As promised, all arrangements are in place, venues have been confirmed, and audiences now have immediate access to the tour schedule, as well as ticket links for these shows. The tour spans 40 days & 40 nights, and audiences can look forward to 35 performances in the outskirts of our country.
Sandilands, speaking from Los Angeles where he attended the premiere of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (May 10th release), said the “Land & Sand” tour in his country of birth, holds the same value to him, as an international premiere. The tour commences 27th June at Die Oumeul Theatre in Paarl and concludes on 4 August at The Alma Café in Cape Town.
Sandilands thanks Hyundai South Africa, the vehicle sponsor for this grand undertaking, as well as the venues involved. “It’s quite an undertaking. It remains a privilege for me to be able to work in my mother tongue,” he adds.
The musical works come from Sandilands’ well-known albums Sangoma Sandilands & Jou Pa se Posse, Allegaarkie vir ’n Askeet, Die Groot 5, Die Groot Niks, as well as new material that have never been recorded. “It will be the first time I sing brand-new songs before they appear on an album. It’s very exciting!”
