WesBank unconditionally apologises for its inaccurate and misleading press release mentioning naamsa
On 9 December 2020, WesBank issued a press release about its participation in the Festival of Motoring 2021 titled “WesBank gears up for Festival of Motoring 2021”.
In this press release the bank erroneously stated that the event was supported by the National Association of Automobile Manufacturer of South Africa [naamsa]. This statement was factually incorrect and therefore misleading.
naamsa has officially withdrawn its participation and has cancelled its endorsement Agreement for the Festival of Motoring 2021. WesBank should have secured approval from naamsa for this mention prior to sending it out, but did not. This statement should not have been included in the press release.
WesBank would like to unreservedly apologise to naamsa and all its members for any inconvenience this might have caused.
