Year In Review 2019: Suzuki Ciaz
This retro sedan had an awesome mid 90s feel to it, with the slightly longer than usual gear stick, and the combination of the genuine leather and synthetic leather upholstery.
It's great to find a car that is comfortable, spacious, has the power but is fuel efficient, a large luggage space, most of the modern features that you would want in a car, that still looks classy and is well priced.
The 4 cylinder 1.5l VVT engine pushes out 77kW with 138Nm of torque.
Some of the features of the GLX are the keyless entry, push start/stop, LED daytime running lights, front LED fog lamps, the bright LED projector headlamps, electric folding mirrors, chrome grille and boot strip, 16 inch alloy wheels, rear sunshade, sun glass holder, pdc and rearview camera, and a smartphone linkage infotainment system with a touchscreen colour display.
The luggage capacity is generous with 480litre, and the boot has an electromagnetic latch and boot light enhance to make it easier to open and close it.
Fuel consumption is always one of the deciding factor when choosing a car.
We were impressed with our average of 5.9l/100km for the duration of the review, but on some longer trips we did manage to bring it down to 5.6l/100km.
The Ciaz entry level 1.5 GL 5 speed manual is R 219 900, The model we tested is the 1.5 GLX 5 speed manual in Sangria Red Pearl which is R 249 900.
Both the GL and GLX are also available in automatic with the price tags of R 234 900 and R 264 900 respectively. 📷 @ziyaad
