Direct from playing the lead role of “Fanny Brice” to critical acclaim in the first ever production of Funny Girl in Paris, internationally acclaimed New York singer, actress and impressionist, Christina Bianco heads to Johannesburg this Easter to perform for the first time at Montecasino’s Teatro for two shows only, on Saturday, 11 April at 3pm and 8pm.

Popular local singer, actor and award-winning musical theatre performer, Craig Urbani, currently on stage at The Teatro playing the leading role of Dr Frank-N-Furter in the Rocky Horror Show joins Christina Bianco as special guest artiste. Multi award-winning arranger and music director, Bryan Schimmel will conduct the live 9-piece band featuring top SA musicians.
Christina Bianco is known locally for her sterling appearances at select prestigious corporate events but possibly more so for her 2017 performances at Cape Town’s Gate 69. Brought back to South Africa by Cape Town born Creative Director and Producer, David Bloch of David Bloch International, Christina is delighted to be returning to this country making her Johannesburg debut at Montecasino.

Bianco captured international acclaim as a YouTube sensation with her ‘diva’ impression videos, gaining over 25 million views. Dubbed ‘the girl of a thousand voices,’ Christina has performed on major television programs such as The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Queen Latifah Show and The Today Show in the US, and The Paul O’Grady Show, This Morning & The Imitation Game in the UK.
A two-time Drama Desk Award nominee, Christina Bianco Christina has performed her critically acclaimed concerts to sold out crowds in New York City and across the U.S.A. In the UK, she’s enjoyed extended runs headlining at London’s Hippodrome, Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room, The Charing Cross Theatre and at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. David Bloch has performed in most mediums of the performing arts and was selected to represent SA at the 1999 World Championships of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles, where he took top honours in the acting and singing categories. Other highlights in his early years of performing include working with Emmy Award Winning Director/Choreographer, the late Alan Johnson on the South African National Tour of West Side Story and appearing in the South African Premier of the hit musical La Cage aux Folles under the directorship of Janice Honeyman. As Creative Director and Show Producer, David has amassed a substantial body of work. Over the years David has had the pleasure and privilege of working with a variety of artists and speciality acts. Many of them have appeared on television programmes the likes of Dancing with the Stars, Strictly Come Dancing, America’s Got Talent, Britain’s Got Talent or Say YES to the Dress, or featured in numerous productions staged around the world by the likes of Cirque du Soleil, Fuerzabruta and De la Guarda including David Blaine, Sir Bob Geldof, Roberta Flack, Gloria Gaynor, Martina Navratilova, Westlife and the Imperial Circus. On the African continent, David’s portfolio includes: the ‘Africa Day’ Concert, the SA Music Awards, the SA Film and Television Awards, the SA Sport Awards, a KORA All Africa Music Awards (Burkino Faso), Strictly Come Dancing SA, the CAF Awards (Ghana), the Opening Ceremony to both the 60th and 63rd FIFA Congress (South Africa & Mauritius), a Laureus Sports Academy Gala, the ICC Cricket World Cup and the Arnold Schwarzenegger ‘Night of Hope’ Gala Dinner.
