With Love From Roodepoort Theatre as ‘Kamphoer’ Sells Out

Roodepoort Theatre is spreading love this February when Joburg City Theatres’ ‘Cupid’ will secretly select patrons at random and present them with a surprise gift to celebrate Valentine’s month.

If you have purchased tickets to the highly acclaimed award winning Kamphoer – die verhaal van Susan Nell, on stage at Roodepoort Theatre from 18 to 28 February 2021 then you could be the recipient of a bouquet of flowers or a fruit hamper, courtesy of the Joburg Market. Look out for Cupid who will take pictures and videos of the special patrons receiving their gifts for sharing across the Roodepoort Theatre’s social media platforms. You never know, Cupid may have you in his sights or even in his heart as he spreads love to patrons at the Roodepoort Theatre this February.
Love of theatre especially during the COVID-19 pandemic has hardly been possible, especially for an industry that is one of the hardest hit by lockdown regulations. With exceptionally limited audiences and even less employment opportunities, the team behind the Roodepoort Theatre has been hard at work to keep the theatre doors open to provide much needed live entertainment in line with COVID-19 regulations. The demand for tickets and the incredible support by theatre-goers together with the Kamphoer creative and technical team as well as leading actress Sandra Prinsloo in the time of the Coronavirus makes the sold out season of Kamphoer a run-away success and a pilot project that the Roodepoort Theatre is incredibly proud of.
“We thank our patrons and all involved with Kamphoer for their support, commitment and belief that live entertainment is possible, even in these difficult times.”
says Pritheven Pillay, General Manager Roodepoort Theatre who added,
“We certainly felt the love of live entertainment in this Valentine’s month and we look forward to welcoming you all."
Kamphoer ticket holders please be advised that masks must be worn at all times, covering both nose and mouth. Seating is unreserved. Patrons will be seated on arrival at the venue by the ushers in accordance with social distancing protocols. To allow for sufficient time for screening and sanitising procedures, patrons are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to show starting times. Continuing its support and love of the arts, the Roodepoort Theatre in association with Roodepoort The Art Revival presents Love on the Lawn on 21 March 2021 at 13h00 in the Roodepoort Theatre gardens. Love on the Lawn is a showcase of young up-and-coming talent. Only the artists that have reached their peak get to go on stage to present their craft. Since its inception, previous performances have left many crowds pleasantly surprised, if not in awe of the calibre of talent on display that drew attention both nationally and even abroad.
Last year was a hard year for everyone and has shaken many relationships.
The Art Revival and Roodepoort Theatre are looking to ignite the spark between friends and lovers. If you are in Roodepoort or the surrounding communities, treat your partner to live music and poetry in an outdoor setting on the green well-groomed lawn of the RT.
Support local talent and help grow the live performance and arts industries by purchasing your tickets to Love on the Lawn, available now at Webtickets.
Share the love of arts and live entertainment at Roodepoort Theatre.
