1/4 cup flour
4 Tablespoons butter
2 cups Water (see note in method)
1 stock cube (I used Knorrox Beef)
This includes whatever you desire to put in (Salt, pepper, dried thyme, dried rosemary, chilli powder, cayenne pepper...)
Melt the butter in a saucepan or uncovered pot over medium heat on a stove.
Once it is melted, lower the heat (or you could even switch the plate off while keeping the stove for this next step) and pour in the flour and mix well.
Gradually add in a little water at a time and stir. As you add in the water, please make sure that there are no lumps. Resume the medium heat.
Add Seasoning. For this particular one, I added some Kimchi Salt and Mixed Herbs.
Continue stirring, ensuring that there is an even texture. Add more water, if you desire, but remember to keep boiling it on low to ensure a slightly thick, but smooth texture.
(If you add a dash of milk - it would become a white sauce, or if you add cheese, then a cheesy white sauce!)
Add the stock cube and continue stirring. If your texture is still runny, put it on a higher heat until it becomes smooth and resembles "gravy"! :)
