Defend the Universe with Marvel Universe Live!

Marvel Universe Live is the most exhilarating, action packed, fun for the whole family, stage production we have ever seen.

My son and I have been counting down the days for Marvel Universe Live! in South Africa since the announcement in August 2019 - well it was mostly me, but he was thrilled to know that he would be seeing all his favourite heroes live.

The day arrived and the excitement was building at the Sun Arena Times Square in Pretoria.

Fans from as young as 3 years old dressed up in their Spiderman suits or Iron Man masks, and some adults joined in the fun as well with Captain America t-shirts.

To create an even more vibrant atmosphere, memorabilia and merchandise were also on sale at the venue.

Saving the universe for 2 hours is a lot of hard work and you build up a good appetite. Food stalls and treats like popcorn, doughnuts and biltong are available to satisfy those hunger pains.

There were designated areas where you could have your picture taken and other fun ways to make memories but
when the clock struck 8, last night, that's when the fun began.

The amazing special effects; strobe lights, lasers, fire and smoke, pyrotechnics, specialised sound effects, and 3D projections bring the set to life while the characters like Spiderman, Dr Strange, The Avengers, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, used martial arts, motorcycle stunts, and aerial maneuvers to defend the universe from the Green Goblin, Loki and Nebula.

Even if you are not a Marvel fan you will enjoy this stage production because you get totally immersed in the set - if someone had to take a photo of me watching this I probably looked like a kid sitting in front of a television screen with my eyes wide and my mouth opened.

Marvel fans, like us will have a blast as we take out our shields and defend the universe!
