SkyCar & Viewing Platform at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban

It's been over ten years since I've left Durban, and moved to Johannesburg, and one of the things that has been added to the eThekwini landmarks is the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The stadium is situated on one of the most ideal places and with the great architectural design, can be viewed from most of the city.
Not only can it be seen across the beautiful Durban landscape, but locals and tourists alike, can see a major part of the sunny city from the stadium.
Moses Mabhida Stadium offers visitors a chance to take a two-minute ride up a SkyCar to a viewing platform where they can take in the breath-taking views of Durban.
The SkyCar is mounted on an undercarriage, and is a single cabin that glides up steel tracks on the northern arch of the stadium.
According to Moses Mabhida Stadium, the SkyCar is designed to roll down the arch under its own gravity which helps it to return to the lower station, even in the event of a power failure.
The incredible little car offers a 360 degree view as you travel up and down the arch with its glass panels, as well as mini sunroofs to view the sky above you on your trip.
The Viewing Platform is at the top, in the centre of the stadium, which is about 106m long.
Views from the SkyCar and the Viewing Platform are phenomenal, and definitely worth the ride up.
Weather conditions do play a part on whether the SkyCar does operate on a certain day, but most days, Monday - Sunday, there are trips from 09:00 to 17:00 with the last car leaving at 16:30.
The entire experience can last up to an hour, which it did for us - it all depends on how long you want to stay up on the viewing deck.
