Year In Review 2019: Ford Kuga ST Line

We continue our look at some of the amazing vehicles in the market which we reviewed in 2019.
The #SUV market is growing in #SouthAfrica and there is a great deal to choose from, so next up on the list we take a peek at the powerful #FordKugaST.
The #FordKuga hasn't had much good publicity recently and we would appreciate that any negative comments be kept to yourself.
But when you are behind the wheel of this beefed up SUV you actually couldn't care less about what others may say - test it to see.
The red stitching on the seats and steering wheel, and the chrome pedals give it the distinct #FordPerformance feel.
The exterior of the #KugaST confirms that this SUV was built for performance with black rims, black trim around the rear lamps, and the full body kit including the roof spoiler.
We had a tremendous amount of fun testing the 177kW of power and 340nM of torque that the 2.0l #EcoBoost engine produces.
It's been a while since we've seen a CD player in any vehicle but it complemented the superb #Sony 9 speaker surround sound entertainment system well, and had us riding gangster with the panoramic sunroof open and the music pounding.
The standard #Ford safety features, capabilities and the SYNC3 connectivity system are all packed into this SUV and a few extra features.
The #AWD makes a huge difference especially when you are cornering (at higher than normal speeds) or want to be quick off the mark - which it is, we achieved 0 - 100 km/h in just under 8 seconds.
The fuel consumption was a bit higher as we averaged at 10.7l/100km but in Ford's defense (as they claim 8.6l/100km) - we didn't exactly drive it to test the fuel efficiency.
The #NewKuga range starts with the 1.5l EcoBoost Ambiente 6 speed manual FWD at R 409 800 and the 2.0l ST Line EcoBoost 6 speed AT AWD in Magnetic (Metallic) which we tested is R 569 800. The #STLine is also available in a 2.0l TDCi 6 speed AT AWD which is priced at R 585 400. 📷 @ziyaad_86
