Festive Fun Continues at Crocworld This Holiday Season!

Reconciliation Day (16 December) marked the (semi-official!) start of a vibrant festive season at Crocworld Conservation Centre, as visitors from across the KZN South Coast and beyond arrived at the Scottburgh-based centre for outdoor activities and family-friendly entertainment.

Colour Run Results Announced

Henry the Nile Crocodile’s remarkable 125th birthday was celebrated in true style with complimentary cupcakes for early visitors, and meat for the birthday boy sponsored by Fresh Food Market Scottburgh.

The Reconciliation Day celebrations also featured a lively Colour Run, drawing enthusiastic participation across both the 5km and 2km categories. Creative outfits and vibrant splashes of colour made for a festive spectacle, with prizes awarded to the best-dressed competitors.

5km Colour Run winners:

•         Sphesihle Hengwa (uMzinto)

•         Jarin Datnow (Brakpan)

•         Jayten Datnow (Brakpan)

2km Colour Run winners:

•         Kwezi Ngcobo (uMzinto)

•         Mpilo Bulose (uMgababa)

More Festive Fun to Be Had

One of the standout attractions running throughout the festive season is the Secret Santa Pop-Up, where Santa may appear at any time of day with surprise giveaways for lucky visitors. Adding to the festive feel at Crocworld is the ongoing face painting and jumping castle fun to keep the children entertained, while adults browse the Crocworld Curio Shop and enjoy the relaxed coastal setting.

Visitors can also explore a selection of locally made crafts and gifts available from vendors trading in the Crocworld parking area, arranged in collaboration with the South Coast Tourism & Investment Enterprise (SCTIE). These craft stalls provide a perfect opportunity to support local artisans while picking up unique holiday gifts.

Beyond the special events, Crocworld continues to offer daily crocodile feedings at 11am and 3pm, giving visitors the chance to learn more about these fascinating reptiles from the centre’s expert team.

The festive cheer continues into the New Year, with the first 100 visitors on New Year’s Day set to receive a free Slushie from the Fish Eagle Café. With ongoing activities and educational family fun, Crocworld remains a must-visit destination throughout the holiday season.
