One Big MINI Morning: MINI takes over Johannesburg this Heritage Day

This Heritage Day, MINI South Africa is making its mark on Mzansi by taking over the streets of Jozi, creating a big moment to demonstrate that its cars are more than just transport, they are an extension of your identity, personality and self-expression.

24 September is a day dedicated to celebrating South Africa’s rich cultures, traditions and languages. For MINI, it is a day to celebrate its own legacy: 24 years since MINI’s South African rebirth, MINI is calling on its drivers to rev their engines and join in another momentous MINI convoy.

Calling everyone for One Big MINI Morning

Following the success of its inaugural Big MINI Breakfast Run in 2025, which saw more than 600 MINI vehicles take to the streets, MINI South Africa is once again showing that owning a MINI is about more than simply getting from A to B. 2025’s convoy culminated in a lively get-together, where drivers came together to socialise and connect over live entertainment to share their passion for the brand.

“Our incredible MINI drivers are the heartbeat, energy, and soul of the entire MINI community,” says Head of MINI South Africa, Carmen Myles. “When MINI drivers assemble, their passion helps build an unforgettable automotive legacy in this country. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate 24 years of MINI.”

Since 2002, MINI has reshaped urban culture and built a loyal and passionate community with its own unique Mzansi MINIness . For Heritage Day, MINI is going bigger in 2026 as the brand plans to bring even more drivers together for an unforgettable journey through Johannesburg.

The convoy will set off from The Acreage in Midrand. Accompanied by a trendy music playlist to keep drivers in the mood, the journey will end at Casalinga, Muldersdrift, where the party begins.

At the venue, MINI drivers will be welcomed to an exciting gathering featuring food trucks, fun activities for the kids, and stalls and activations from major lifestyle brands. MINI apparel will be on sale, while MINI Financial Services will help you secure finance and insurance for your next dream MINI. It promises to be the perfect ending to an unforgettable experience.

“There's something special about a brand that can inspire so much passion and community, and we’re calling on every single MINI driver out there bring your car, bring your pride, and help us make history on Jozi's streets,” says Myles. “Let’s show Mzansi exactly what MINI is all about."
