The graduation ceremony will celebrate the achievements of the FUSE Academy students, acknowledging their hard work and rewarding them accordingly. FUSE students will also receive guidance and inspiration from key panel speakers including industry leaders; music journalist Helen Herimbi; brand manager Pondo Belot and TV personalities Ayanda Thabethe and Rori Thandekiso.
“The real work is left up to the students who are encouraged to fully apply themselves and realise that all possible success is completely up to the individual. Successful DJ’s are extremely consistent hard workers and students need to apply themselves to see the incredible results that are possible”, said co-founder DJ Zinhle.
FUSE Academy is a DJ school founded in 2009, hosted by two young black females; popular South African DJ Zinhle and business woman Nomndeni Mdakhi. FUSE aims to empower young females with a keen interest in a career in the entertainment industry, allowing them the opportunity to become DJ’s. FUSE adopts a holistic educational approach aimed at identifying and nurturing talent amongst young females. The academy encapsulates the many challenges that females are faced with within the entertainment industry and provides training, mentoring and tutoring to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge required to succeed in this very industry.
“As expressed by Chelsea Leyland ‘The best thing about being a DJ is making people happy. There is nothing like seeing people get up from a table to dance, or the expression on their face when they hear a song they love.’ It is for this reason that Albany Bakeries is in partnership with our Ambassador, DJ Zinhle, who reflects love, joy and respect in daily life. We at Albany are not only about feeling the love but sharing the love too, for our community, family and friends, which Zinhle has represented so well through her association with Albany and Fuse Academy. Love is a vehicle for prospering individuals, families, homes and broader communities. Albany encourages more than self-love we are about sharing and this academy is certainly achieving this objective, witnessing all the graduates this year” says Pondo Belot, Marketing Manager Albany Bakeries.
