What is Coriander?

Coriander is an edible herb that is used to flavour dishes.

Coriander is also known as Dhania, Chinese Parsely, or Cilantro.

Are there any Health Benefits of Coriander?

Coriander is full of antioxidants, which are important for fighting free radicals in your body. The antioxidants in coriander help remove free radicals from your body, reducing your risk of certain cancers and even decreasing signs of aging.

For more health benefits of coriander leaves and seeds, please find the reference at the end of this article.

Do You Love Coriander ?

Coriander (Dhania) is used to garnish most Indian dishes; it is used for cooking, and it is even used in savouries, such as samoosas.

Towards the end of this article, I have shared some of the recipes which include coriander, that are published on iloveza.com from contributors, over the years.

If you would like to share your favourite dhania/ coriander/ cilantro recipe, feel free to mail us: blogger@iloveza.com

So what is the history behind “International I Hate Coriander Day” and why do some people hate it?

A few years ago, a Facebook group popped up called “I Hate Coriander” where people ALL over the world unite to show their disdain for the green garnishing plant, and expressed bafflement for those who enjoyed eating it.

If you hate this herb, you can let us know in the comment section why – if you have memes about it, go on and share it today…. But please don’t hate on those who love this herb!

Here are some common reasons why people hate Coriander:

  • “it is annoying to see a meal that just has these green leaves dotted all over the top.”
  • It is believed that genetics plays a key role in the hate for coriander
  • they just simply do not like the taste
