Recipe: Orange Juice Mocktail

Since much of the country is experiencing below average weather temperatures, I thought I'd post a beverage with a sunny disposition to add a touch of vibrant colour to your day. The most important ingredient in this recipe is freshly squeezed orange juice ๐ŸŠ I don't know about you but I LOVE it, with or without the pulp and if I don't order tea when I'm dining out, my second choice is generally freshly squeezed orange juice ๐Ÿน...boring, perhaps yes, but try adding in a handful of muddled mint and a touch of fizz and prepare to enjoy a version of orange juice 2.0 ๐Ÿ˜Ž For those in parts of the world who are experiencing the sweltering heat, save this recipe as a thirst quencher when all you need is liquid relief from the humidity! Orange Juice Mocktail

2 cups orange juice
ยผ cup lemon juice (squeezed)
ยฝ cup Sprite
ยผ cup water
2 tbsp sugar (if needed after the Sprite is added)
2-3 slices orange
5 leaves mint
ice cubes (as required)

Stir orange juice, lemon juice, water, & sugar in a vessel till the sugar dissolves. In the serving jug, middle the mint leaves and add in the stirred juice mixture. Garnish with orange slices, mint leaves and ice cubes. Top with Sprite when ready to serve
This mocktail tastes better if prepared well in advance so that the mint and orange extracts mix well.
To make the drink fizzy add Sprite just before you serve.
Orange juice with pulp is preferred.

For the low carb version:

Replace Sprite with soda water and sugar with xylitol. Extra xylitol might be needed to taste.
